Installation Instructions for Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 (2014 and Newer)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Temporarily Lower Spare Tire:
- Lower the spare tire to provide room for installation.

Remove Factory Light Duty Hitch (2014 and Newer Models Only):
- Remove the factory-installed light-duty bumper hitch: a. Remove the (2) M8 bolts connecting the center hitch tabs to the bumper; return to the owner. b. Remove the (2) M14 x 80mm bolts and (2) M14 nuts securing the hitch to the frame rails; return to the owner. c. Remove and retain (2) M14 x 45mm bolts securing the rear of the hitch to the weldnuts in the frame rails. d. Remove and retain (4) M12 nuts and (2) M12 x 40mm stud plates securing the hitch to the frame sides. e. Remove the hitch completely and return to the owner. f. Reinstall the stud plates and nuts removed in Step 2d and torque to 52 ft-lbs.

Install the Hitch:
- Remove (1) M14 bumper bracket bolt from each frame rail (completed in Step 2c).
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the rear-most holes in the hitch with the holes where the bumper bracket bolts were removed.
- Secure the hitch using the existing M14 bumper bracket bolts.

Install Forward and Center Hardware:
- Place a 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolt and CM-SP1 spacer into the forward-most hole of the frame and hitch (each side).
Secure with a 1/2"-13 hex flange nut. - Place a 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolt and CM-SP4 spacer into the center hole of the frame and hitch (each side).
Secure with a 1/2"-13 hex flange nut.
- Place a 1/2"-13 x 1 3/4" carriage bolt and CM-SP1 spacer into the forward-most hole of the frame and hitch (each side).

Torque Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2" hardware to 110 ft-lbs.
- Torque all M14 hardware to 103 ft-lbs.

Reinstall Spare Tire:
- Return the spare tire to its original position.

- Carriage Bolt, 1/2-13 x 1-3/4, Grade 8, YZ: Qty 4
- Flange Nut, 1/2-13 UNC, Grade 8, YZ: Qty 4
- Square Hole Spacer, .250 x 1.50 x 2.00" (CM-SP1): Qty 2
- Square Hole Spacer, .250 x 1.50 x 3.00" (CM-SP4): Qty 2
