Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Remove the trunk pan insert.
- Clear contents from the trunk.
- Remove the plastic trunk pan insert by unfastening four 10mm nuts.
- Ensure the steel trunk pan, main battery, and audio battery are visible.
Step 2: Remove the underbody panel.
- Unfasten eight 7mm hex head screws, two T-15 button head Torx screws, and one plastic body panel fastener.
Step 3: Remove the trunk pan plug and mark drilling location.
- Locate the 1 3/8" plug in the bottom of the trunk pan and carefully remove it.
- Return the plug to the owner.
- Measure 4 1/2" toward the front of the vehicle and mark a drilling point for the second 1/2" fastener.
Step 4: Apply silicone caulk and place spacers.
- Apply a 1/4" bead of silicone caulk around the trunk pan holes, the two CM-SP34 spacers, one CM-SP28 spacer, and one CM-SP50 spacer.
- Position the spacers in the trunk, centered over the holes.
- Insert two 1/2" carriage bolts into the spacers.
Step 5: Install the hitch.
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning it with the carriage bolts installed in Step 4.
- Secure the hitch with two 1/2" hex flange nuts and two M10 hex bolts with conical toothed washers.
- Avoid pushing the carriage bolts back into the trunk pan during installation.
Step 6: Torque all hardware.
- Torque all M10 bolts to 48 ft-lbs.
- Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 110 ft-lbs.
Step 7: Trim the underbody panel.
- Cut a 2 1/2" x 4" square hole in the center of the underbody panel for the receiver tube.
- Notch the front of the underbody panel to allow clearance for the side plates.
Step 8: Reinstall components.
- Reinstall the underbody panel and the plastic trunk pan insert.
- Replace the contents removed in Step 1.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Remove the trunk pan insert.
