- It is located right of the steering column, taped to another harness.
- The connector is a 4-pin connector that matches the adapter’s plug.
Step 2: Connect the Adapter
- Plug the brake control adapter into the vehicle’s electric brake control harness connector.
- Follow the brake control manufacturer’s installation instructions for wiring and mounting the brake controller unit.
CAUTION:
Plug the brake control adapter into the back of the brake controller BEFORE connecting it to the vehicle’s harness.
Step 3: Complete Installation and Testing
- Complete the installation following the brake controller manufacturer’s instructions.
- Mount the brake controller unit securely as directed.
- Perform all test procedures provided in the brake controller manual.

Tools Required:
- Drill with 1/8" drill bit
- Screwdriver or 1/4" Nut Driver
- Wire Cutter/Stripper
- Wire Crimping Tool
- Probe-type Circuit Tester
- Assorted End Wrenches

Mounting Instructions:

Select a Suitable Mounting Location:
- Must be securely mounted to a solid surface.
- Must be within easy reach of the driver.
- Ensure the area behind the mounting location is clear before drilling.

Mark the Hole Locations:
- Hold the mounting bracket in place.
- Mark the holes using the slots in the bracket as a template.

Drill Mounting Holes:
- Use a 1/8" drill bit to drill holes at the marked locations.

Output (Gain) Control:
- Adjusts the maximum power delivered to the trailer brakes.

- Slide the control to manually apply the trailer brakes.

- Drive at 25 mph on a dry, level surface.

- Repeat until braking is smooth and effective, just below wheel lock-up.
