Installation Instructions for 2015 Chevrolet Colorado & GMC Canyon Pick-Up

- Ratchet
- 13mm socket
- 21mm socket
- 9" extension

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Spare Tire:
- Use the vehicle's service tools located in the cab to lower the spare tire.

Loosen Spare Tire Support Bracket:
- Remove the two bolts near the spare winch using a 13mm socket to loosen the spare tire support bracket.

Remove Factory Crossmember or Hitch:
- Detach the four bolts securing the factory crossmember or hitch to the frame rails using a 21mm socket.
- Support the bumper from underneath, as it shares the same mounting points.
- Ensure all wiring is clear, then carefully remove the factory crossmember or hitch from the vehicle.

Transfer Clip Nuts:
- Move the two clip nuts from the factory crossmember or hitch to the spare tire support bracket.

Clean Weldnuts:
- Use spray lubricant and a wire pipe brush to clean the weldnuts on the frame, ensuring proper bolt engagement.

Install CURT Hitch:
- Position the CURT hitch between the frame and bumper mounting plates.
- Attach the bottom mounting bolts (two per side) using the existing hardware, leaving them loose to allow for bumper adjustment.
- Align the bumper with the side mounting holes and secure the remaining four bolts using a 21mm socket.

Torque Fasteners:
- Torque all M14 bolts to 100 ft-lbs to ensure secure attachment.

Reinstall Spare Tire Support Bracket and Spare Tire:
- Reinstall all bolts removed in Step 2.
- Raise the spare tire back into its original position.
Safety Notes:
- Load Capacities:
- Weight Carrying: 8,000 lbs. trailer weight, 800 lbs. tongue weight.
- Weight Distribution: 10,000 lbs. trailer weight, 1,000 lbs. tongue weight.
- Warning: Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
- Maintenance:
- Periodically check this receiver hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound.
