Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Remove Exhaust Tips
- Locate the exhaust tips and remove (6) bolts, (3) on each tip, using a T40 Torx bit.
- Remove the exhaust tips and set them aside for later reinstallation.
Step 2: Lower the Exhaust
- Remove (2) bolts using an E12 socket from the exhaust bracket on each side.
- Detach (2) rubber isolators from the exhaust toward the front of the vehicle.
Step 3: Remove Heat Shields
- On the heat shields, locate and remove:
- (4) nuts using an 8mm socket
- (2) bolts using a 10mm socket
- (2) screws using a T25 Torx bit
- (1) metal clip on each side.
- Set the heat shields and hardware aside for later reinstallation.
Step 4: Trim Heat Shields
- Mark a 4" x 8" section on the heat shields using masking tape and a marker.
- Trim out the marked section with aviation shears.
- Reinstall the heat shields using the hardware removed in Step 3.
Step 5: Mark and Drill Hitch Mounting Holes
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the rear-most hole of the hitch with the existing hole on the frame.
- Use the hitch as a template to mark out the forward-most hole on each side.
- Lower the hitch and drill out the marked areas using a 1/2" drill bit.
- Note: Push the exhaust to the side of the vehicle for easier drilling access.
Step 6: Enlarge Frame Rail Access Holes
- Use a die grinder to enlarge the slotted hole on the frame rail to 1.125".
- Verify that the provided bolt head will fit through the enlarged hole before proceeding.
Step 7: Fishwire Hardware
- Fishwire (1) 7/16" carriage bolt and (1) CM-SP2 spacer through the enlarged access hole to the forward-most hole in the frame on each side.
- Reverse fishwire (1) 7/16" carriage bolt and (1) CM-SP2 spacer into the enlarged access hole on each frame rail.
Step 8: Mount the Hitch
- Raise the hitch into position, feeding the fishwires through the corresponding holes in the hitch.
- Remove the fishwires and loosely fasten (2) 7/16" hex flange nuts on each side.
Step 9: Torque Hardware
- Tighten all 7/16" hardware to 59 ft-lbs using a torque wrench.
Step 10: Reinstall Exhaust Tips and Exhaust
- Reinstall the exhaust tips and raise the exhaust by following Steps 1-2 in reverse order.

- (2) .250 x .88 x 2.25" Square Hole Spacers (CM-SP2)
