Installation Instructions for Signature Series Gooseneck Hitch

Warnings:
- Follow all installation instructions to avoid serious injury or death.
- Ensure adequate clearance between the truck and trailer during operation.
- Maintain at least 6 inches of clearance between the top of the pickup walls and the underside of the trailer.
Step-by-Step Installation Instructions:
1. Pre-Installation Preparation:
- Confirm all components from the hardware list are included.
- Lubricate the anchor bushings with white lithium grease.
2. Assembling the Anchor Bushings:
- Loosely attach the four anchor bushings to the base of the gooseneck hitch using 1” jam nuts and tab washers.
- Place the hitch into the mounting pucks installed in the truck bed.
3. Securing the Hitch:
- Snug-tighten the jam nuts using a 1 1/2” wrench until there is no vertical play in the anchor bushings.
- Tighten the jam nuts an additional quarter turn to secure.
- Bend one tab of the washer against the flat of the jam nut using a chisel and hammer to lock the nuts in place.
4. Installing Anchor Tee Pins and Handles:
- Remove the hitch from the truck bed and install the anchor Tee pins through the bushings.
- Attach the anchor handles, ensuring proper alignment and threading.
- Insert 3/16” lynch pins to lock the assembly.
5. Installing the Hitch in the Truck:
- Place the hitch into the pucks and rotate the anchor handles into the locked position.
- Insert lynch pins into the anchor handles to secure the hitch.
Maintenance:
- Keep the assembly clean and free of debris.
- Lubricate the hitch ball monthly or as needed with heavy grease.
- Inspect all parts for wear and replace as necessary.

Safety Notes:
- Warning:
- Do not exceed the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity or the lowest rated component of your system.
- Ensure clearance between the trailer and the rear of the truck cab and bed before installation.
- Carefully examine fuel lines, brake lines, and electrical wiring along the truck frame to prevent damage during installation.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Identify Truck Frame Configuration
- Truck configurations supported by this kit:
- Without helper spring brackets.
- With helper spring brackets.
- Without helper spring brackets but with threaded inserts inside the frame.
Step 2: Pickup Bed Removal
- Remove any plastic bed liners (spray-on liners are acceptable).
- Detach the fuel filler tube and remove retaining clips/screws.
- Disconnect tailgate and tail-light wiring by the spare tire.
- Remove 8 pickup bed mounting bolts and lift the bed using at least four people.
Step 3: Frame Bracket Installation
- Front Brackets (Driver & Passenger Side):
- Install loosely using supplied bolts, washers, and nuts. Use pull wires to feed carriage bolts through frame slots.
- Rear Brackets (Driver & Passenger Side):
- Follow a similar process as the front brackets. Use larger top holes in the frame and secure with hardware provided.
Step 4: Mounting Rail Installation
- Use correct mounting holes for bed size:
- 6.5 ft: Second set of twin holes.
- 8 ft: First set of holes.
- Tighten all hardware:
- M14 Bolts to 148 ft-lbs.
- M12 Bolts to 100 ft-lbs.
- 1/2" Carriage Bolts to 110 ft-lbs.
Step 5: Drilling Bed Holes
- Mark and drill pilot holes for fifth wheel and gooseneck mounts:
- 6.5 ft bed: 36-1/16" forward of the truck floor edge.
- 8 ft bed: 37-5/16" forward of the truck floor edge.
- Use a 3-1/2" hole saw for the center hole and 3" hole saws for outer mounts.
Step 6: Install Mounting Structure
- Position the mounting structure and align with drilled holes.
- Attach using bolts, washers, and nuts.
Step 7: Reinstall Pickup Bed
- Carefully place the bed back onto the frame.
- Reattach all wiring and fuel filler components.
- Tighten the bed bolts securely.
