Wiring Access Location:
- Under dash, left of the steering column, near the driver-side kick panel

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Disconnect the vehicle battery
- Locate the vehicle’s battery and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Isolate the cable to prevent accidental contact during installation.
- Caution: Do not touch the negative terminal to the positive terminal. This can cause serious injury or damage to the vehicle’s electrical system.
Step 2: Locate the brake control harness connector
- Remove the driver-side kick panel using a trim panel remover.
- Find the 4-pin electric brake control harness connector under the dash. It will be taped to another harness and resemble the brake control harness.
Step 3: Connect the brake control harness
- Insert the brake control harness into the vehicle’s connector, ensuring the locking tabs are secure.
- Take care not to damage the connector during this step.
Step 4: Attach the brake control adapter
- Plug the brake control adapter into the electric controller connector.
- Route the wiring neatly to avoid any pinch points or interference with vehicle components.
Step 5: Mount and test the brake control unit
- Complete the installation using the manufacturer’s brake control instructions.
- Mount the brake control unit as directed.
- Perform the recommended test procedures to verify functionality.

- Drill with 1/8" drill bit

Mounting Instructions:

Select a Suitable Mounting Location:
- Must be securely mounted to a solid surface.
- Must be within easy reach of the driver.
- Ensure the area behind the mounting location is clear before drilling.

Mark the Hole Locations:
- Hold the mounting bracket in place.
- Mark the holes using the slots in the bracket as a template.

Drill Mounting Holes:
- Use a 1/8" drill bit to drill holes at the marked locations.

Secure the Bracket:
- Use two self-tapping screws to secure the bracket.
- Avoid over-tightening to prevent stripping the holes.

Mount the Brake Control Unit:
- Secure the unit to the bracket using the remaining two screws.
Wiring Instructions:

Connect the Wires:
- Black Wire: Vehicle Power (12V positive battery connection, use a 30A circuit breaker).
- White Wire: Vehicle Ground (secure to a clean, bare metal surface).
- Red Wire: Stop Light Switch (connect to the wire that activates only when the brake pedal is pressed).

Controls and Operation:

Output (Gain) Control:
- Adjusts the maximum power delivered to the trailer brakes.
- Use the +/- buttons to increase or decrease output.
- Display shows values from 0 to 10 (0 = minimum power, 10 = maximum power).

Manual Control:
- Located on the front of the brake control unit.
- Slide the control to manually apply the trailer brakes.
- Use this feature to check or adjust brake performance.

Boost Control:
- Provides more aggressive trailer braking.
- Boost levels: b.1, b.2, and b.3.
- Increase or decrease the boost by pressing the Boost Control button.
Setting Power to the Trailer Brakes:
- Connect the trailer to the tow vehicle.
- With the engine running, set the Output/Gain to approximately 5.0.
- Drive at 25 mph on a dry, level surface.
- Apply the Manual Control fully:
- If trailer brakes lock up, decrease power.
- If braking is insufficient, increase power.
- Repeat until braking is smooth and effective, just below wheel lock-up.
