Installation Instructions for Ford Fiesta Hatchback (2011-Current)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower exhaust and trim heat shield:
- Remove 2 rubber isolator hangers from the hanger rods supporting the muffler.
- Use lubricant or soapy water to ease removal of the rubber isolators.
- If necessary, remove nuts from the muffler heat shield using a 10mm socket.
- Measure 1” rearward from the middle attachment hole on the heat shield, mark a perpendicular line, and cut off the rear portion.
- Reinstall the trimmed heat shield using the two remaining attachment holes.

Insert fasteners:
- Use the reverse fishwire method to insert 7/16” carriage bolts and special washers into the vehicle frame.
- Repeat for both sides of the vehicle.

Raise hitch into position:
- Carefully position the hitch over the muffler and align it with the bolts installed in Step 2.
- Ensure bolts remain in place by leaving fishwires attached.
- Secure the hitch with 7/16” conical washers and 7/16” nuts without fully tightening.

Install handle nuts:
- Bend handle nuts as required to insert them through access holes in the frame and align them with the slots in the hitch.
- Attach 1/2” conical washers and 1/2” bolts.
- Tighten all fasteners to the specified torque and raise the muffler back into place.

Tighten fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten:
- 1/2”-13 Gr.5 bolts/nuts to 50 lb-ft (68 N*m).
- 7/16”-14 Gr.5 bolts/nuts to 50 lb-ft (68 N*m).
- Use a torque wrench to tighten:

Safety Notes:
- Always wear safety glasses during installation.
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
- Do not cut attachment holes using a torch.

- Plug all removed holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Lincoln MKS

- Trim Panel Remover
- 8mm Socket & Ratchet or 8mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)

- Wire Crimpers

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.
-
Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness. It will have a connection point matching the ends of the T-Connector.
- Separate the connectors carefully to avoid breaking the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locked securely.
-
Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 3 for the green wire T-Connector.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the grounding area.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Connect the Power Wire:
- From inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery, avoiding areas that may pinch or damage the wire.
Warning: Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or other areas that could damage the wire.

Install the Fuse Holder:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.
Warning: Follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Reconnect the Battery and Install the Fuse:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning: Ensure all connections are complete. Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Secure the T-Connector Harness:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the harness, avoiding areas that may pinch or cut the wire.
- Clean a flat area on the driver’s side of the rear cargo area floor using rubbing alcohol and water, then mount the T-Connector black box using the double-sided tape provided.
- Reinstall the trunk threshold and felt liner.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 5.6 amps
