Installation Instructions for Chevrolet/GMC Pickups with Aftermarket Roll Pan
Part Numbers:

Wiring Access Location:

Tools Required:
- Drill with 1/2" Drill Bit
- Wrenches: 7/8" (Crowfoot)
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Spare Tire:
- Remove the spare tire from the vehicle.
- If the under-bed spare tire is to be retained, an aftermarket spare tire repositioner must be installed.

Position Rearmost Slots:
- Position the rearmost slots in the receiver over/after the slot near the end of the frame.

Drill Forward Attachment Holes:
- On 8' bed models, use the hitch as a template to drill forward attachment holes.

Install Fasteners:
- Install fasteners as shown in Figure 1.
- Use 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2" blocks (1540 and 3719) oriented as shown in the diagram.

Cut Roll Pan (if required):
- Cut the roll pan in the license plate area to provide drawbar installation and pin & clip access.
- Reposition the license plate while the drawbar is in use.

Apply Load Rating Label:
- Apply the load rating label (5767) provided in the license plate area of the roll pan.

Check Spare Tire Clearance:
- If using an aftermarket spare tire repositioner, ensure clearance between the spare tire, brake lines, and differential (see Figure 2).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all 1/2" GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft.
Torque Specifications:
- 1/2" GR5 fasteners: 75 lb-ft
Hardware List:
- (6) Carriage Bolts, 1/2"-13 x 1.75" GR5
- (6) Blocks, 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2" (3719 and 1540)
- (6) Conical Toothed Washers
- (6) Hex Nuts, 1/2"-13
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

Wiring Access Location:
- Left rear frame rail of the vehicle.
Tools Required:
- Electrical tape or tie straps (not supplied).
- Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness along the inside of the left rear frame rail.
- This harness will have a connection point with connectors matching the ends of the T-connector adapter.

Separate the harness connectors.
- Note: Be careful not to break the locking tabs.
- Ensure that the mating surfaces of the connectors are free of dirt and clean them if necessary.

Insert the T-connector adapter between the harness connectors and lock into place.
- Verify that the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secure.

Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle's frame or crossmember.
- Note: Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire with an eyelet using the screw provided.

Route the T-connector harness to the center of the vehicle.
