Installation Instructions for Ford F-150, F-250 Light Duty, Expedition, Navigator
(Does NOT fit 1997-1998 2WD F-150 & F-250 LD)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Skid Plate (If Present):
- Remove the optional skid plate to access mounting locations.

Remove Tow Hooks (If Present):
- Remove the optional tow hooks if installed on the vehicle.
-
Lower Fascia for Specific Models:
- For 1999 and newer 4WD F-150, F-250 LD, and Expedition models, remove the lower fascia and return it to the vehicle owner.
- For 1997-1998 4WD F-150, F-250 LD, and Expedition models without tow hooks, the lower fascia must be trimmed or removed for receiver clearance.
- Note: Consult the vehicle owner before trimming.

Navigator Models - Air Valve Relocation:
- Remove the bottom fascia fasteners and the internal air baffle on Navigator models. Return these to the vehicle owner.
- Remove the plastic rivets from the air valve on the passenger-side frame rail.

Relocate Wire Harness (If Necessary):
- Unclip and relocate the wire harness on the driver-side frame rail as necessary.

Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and align the mounting holes with the vehicle frame.

Install Carriage Bolts and Spacers:
- Fishwire the 1/2”-13 x 1-3/4” carriage bolts and spacers through the vehicle frame using the supplied pull wires.
- Refer to Figure 1 for correct placement.

Install Spacers for Gaps:
- If the gap between the hitch side brackets and the vehicle frame exceeds 0.250", install the 1-1/2" x 3" x 1/4" round hole spacers as necessary.
- Refer to Figure 2 for guidance.

Attach Hardware:
- Install the supplied lock washers and hex nuts onto the carriage bolts.

Reinstall Tow Hooks and Skid Plate:
- Reinstall the optional tow hooks if they were removed earlier.
- Tighten the tow hook bolts before tightening the hitch nuts.
- Reinstall the skid plate, trimming as necessary for clearance (on 1997-1998 models).

Torque Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2” Grade 5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N-m).
Hardware List:
- (4) 1/2”-13 x 1-3/4” Carriage Bolts
- (4) 1/2” Lock Washers
- (4) 1/2”-13 Hex Nuts
- (4) 1-1/2” x 3” x 1/4” Round Hole Spacers
- (4) 1-1/2” x 3” x 1/4” Square Hole Spacers
- (2) Fishwire Tools
Safety Notes:
- Periodically check the hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound.
- Warning: Do not exceed the vehicle’s Front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).
- Maximum Cargo Capacity: 500 lbs.
- Maximum Winch Line Pull: 9,000 lbs.
- Damaged hitches must be replaced immediately.
Manufacturer Notes:
- Observe all safety precautions, including wearing eye protection when working under the vehicle.
- Do NOT use a torch to create mounting holes or access slots.
- Compliant with SAE J684 and VESC Regulation V-5.
