Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Remove two hooks from the vehicle frame and return them to the owner for reinstallation of the hitch after removing the tow hook.
- Raise the hitch into position and align side brackets with existing M12 bolt holes. Install M12 bolts into frame rails. Reinstall existing bolts that were removed in Step 1.
- Forward Attachment:
- Insert a 1/2" x 1-1/2" x 2" block (1097-002) from the end of the frame. Install the hex bolt and conical tooth washer with handle nut (1333) as shown above.
- Tighten all M12 fasteners to 58 lb-ft.
- Tighten all 1/2" hex bolts to 50 lb-ft.

Remove Existing Hooks
- Remove two hooks from the vehicle frame and set them aside for reinstallation.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

Wiring Access Location:
- Tail light wiring harness near the rear interior panels on both sides of the vehicle.
Tools Required:
- Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
- Screwdriver.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the rear door of the vehicle and remove the five screws attaching the threshold panel.

Remove the shade latch screws located on each side of the vehicle (Fig. A).
- Carefully pull the plastic trim panels away from the side of the vehicle to expose the vehicle wiring (Fig. B).

Locate the vehicle’s tail light wiring harness.
- This harness will have connection points on both sides with connectors matching the ends of the T-Connector adapter.

Separate the harness connectors on the left (driver’s) side.
- Note: Be careful not to damage the locking tabs.

Insert the T-Connector harness containing the yellow wire between the harness connectors and lock into place.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secure.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the right (passenger) side using the connector containing the green wire.

Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or cross member.
- Caution: Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
- Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.

Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Route the yellow wire under the threshold panel.

Secure the threshold and side panels with the screws removed in steps 1 and 2.
