Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Jeep Liberty
Part Numbers:

Wiring Access Location:
- Rear taillight assemblies and under the vehicle near the bumper.
Tools Required:
- Trim panel remover.
- 10mm socket and ratchet or wrench.
- Drill with a 3/32" drill bit.
- Wire crimpers and cutters.
- Philips head screwdriver.
- Test probe.
- T20 Torx.
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the rear glass gate and tailgate to access the screws that hold the taillights in place.
- On the driver’s side, locate the T-20 Torx screws near the tailgate hinge. Remove the screws and carefully pry the taillight housings rearward away from the vehicle, being cautious not to damage the alignment tabs.

Disconnect the wire harness from both taillight sockets.
- Slide the red locking tab on the harness connector to the unlocked position and disconnect the connectors.

Starting on the driver’s side:
- Plug the T-Connector harness containing the yellow wire in between the vehicle’s connectors. Slide the red locking tab into the locked position.

Route the harness containing the green wire and the 4-flat down through the opening behind the driver’s side taillight.
- Route the 4-flat harness to the center of the vehicle and the harness with the green wire under the vehicle, up through the opening behind the passenger’s side taillight.

Repeat step 4 for the passenger’s side using the T-Connector harness with the green wire.

Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter:
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area. Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

On the driver’s side:
- Locate the red 12-gauge power wire from the T-Connector box. Attach the black 12-gauge wire provided. Route the black wire through the taillight socket opening, behind the bumper, along the frame or wiring thresholds, into the engine compartment, and to the battery. Avoid areas that may pinch, break, or melt the wire.

Disconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
- Install the yellow fuse holder on the positive battery cable. Attach the ring terminal and secure it to the battery’s positive post.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.

Test the installation with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. Re-insert the key and test all functions.

Secure the T-Connector black box behind the driver’s side taillight assembly using the provided cable ties or double-sided tape.
- Ensure the epoxy side of the module faces downward to prevent water buildup.

Reinstall the taillight assemblies and other components removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.

Mount the 4-flat connector in a suitable location under the vehicle.
- Secure the remainder of the harness with the provided cable ties.
