Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower the Exhaust:
- Detach the exhaust hanger on the passenger side to lower the vehicle exhaust.

Lower Load-Leveling Compressor (if applicable):
- Detach the compressor on the driver’s side by removing (1) M10 bolt and (2) M6 nuts.
Note: Trim the vertical tab on the compressor bracket if it interferes with the adjacent M10 bolt.

Install the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and secure it with M10 x 1.50 x 35mm CL10.9 bolts and 3/8” conical washers into the existing weldnuts on both sides.

Drill Holes for Additional Fasteners:
- Use the rearmost holes in the hitch side brackets as a template to drill 1/2” holes in the vehicle frame rails.
- For 2004 and older models:
- Long wheelbase: Drill an additional 1/2” hole through the forwardmost passenger-side bracket location.
- Short wheelbase: Align the forwardmost passenger-side bracket hole with the existing slot in the frame rail.
- For 2005 and newer models:
- Align the forwardmost slot in the passenger-side bracket with the existing weldnut in the frame rail.

Fishwire Fasteners (Passenger Side):
- Use the provided pull wire to guide carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the existing slot in the frame rail and into position at the forwardmost hole.
Note: Spacer block placement varies by model year and wheelbase:
- 2004 and older short wheelbase: Place (2) blocks between the frame rail and hitch.
- 2004 and older long wheelbase: Place (2) blocks between the hitch and lock washer.
- 2005 and newer: Secure bolts through the fender support bar, hitch slot, and existing weldnut.

Secure Rear Fasteners:
- Insert handle nuts through square holes inside the frame rail.
- Install hex bolts and lock washers through the rearmost holes drilled in Step 4.

Reattach Components:
- Reinstall the exhaust hanger and load-leveling compressor using M10 fasteners.
Note for AWD Models: Pass the exhaust hanger through the 3” slot in the hitch side bracket. Use (2) 1/4” spacer blocks to reattach the hanger bracket.

Torque Specifications:
- Tighten all M6 CL8.8 fasteners to 5 lb-ft (7 N·m).
- Tighten all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners to 42 lb-ft (57 N·m).
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

- T-30 Torx® Bit and Driver
- Trim Panel Remover
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Drill with a 3/32" Drill Bit
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Rear Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and remove the two T-30 Torx® head bolts on each side.
- Carefully pry the taillight housings away from the vehicle, ensuring not to damage the alignment tabs.

Install T-Connector on the Driver’s Side:
- Disconnect the wire harness from the driver’s side taillight socket.
- Plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the mating plugs on the driver’s side taillight socket and the vehicle wiring harness.

Route the Wiring:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire and the 4-flat connector down through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body.
- Route the green wire to the passenger side, being careful to avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or other points that may pinch or damage the wire.
- Bring the green wire up through the opening on the passenger side and connect it to the passenger-side taillight harness.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connectors, such as an existing ground stud.
- If no existing stud is available, drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid vehicle damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering, and any other items removed during installation.
- Reinstall the taillight assemblies, ensuring the vehicle wiring harness is positioned securely between the housing and the vehicle body.
- Secure the remaining T-Connector harness under the bumper with the provided cable ties.
