Installation Instructions for Acura MDX
(Fits with mini spare tire stowed under the vehicle. Will not fit with a full-size spare or rear sport bumper trim.)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Spare Tire:
- Completely remove the mini spare tire for easier hitch installation.

Lower Exhaust:
- Detach the two rearmost rubber hangers on both sides to lower the exhaust system.

Remove Heat Shields:
- Detach and remove the heat shields from both sides of the vehicle.
-
Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position under the vehicle frame.
- Secure the hitch using the provided hardware by installing eight (8) M14 x 1.50 x 45mm hex bolts and eight (8) flat washers into the existing weldnuts.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M14 fasteners to 90 lb-ft (122 N·m).

Reinstall Heat Shields:
- Reattach the heat shields to the frame and tighten the bolts.

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into position and secure the rubber hangers.
-
Reinstall Spare Tire:
- Replace the mini spare tire back into its stowed position under the vehicle.

- (8) Flat Washers (9/16” Hardened)
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter
Part Numbers:

Tools Required:
- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or Wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the vehicle’s rear tailgate.
- On the driver’s side, remove the access door on the trim panel.
- Open the rear cargo door and remove the threshold, jack storage door, and pull back the black cargo liner.
- Set aside all items removed, being careful not to damage any parts.

Locate the Electric Junction Box:
- Inside the cargo area, locate the vehicle’s grey electric junction box behind the trim panel.
-
Connect the T-Connector:
- Starting from the cargo area, route the white T-Connector end up and behind the trim panel to the junction box area.
- Plug the white T-Connector end into the mating connection in the electric junction box.

Mount the T-Connector Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, under the trim panel area between the cargo area and the junction box, clean a flat surface using a mixture of rubbing alcohol and water.
- Mount the T-Connector’s black box using the provided double-sided tape.

Ground the White Wire:
- Route the white wire with the eyelet toward the center of the vehicle near the threshold area.
- Locate the existing ground stud and remove the bolt using a 10mm socket or wrench.
- Place the white wire with the eyelet around the bolt and re-tighten.
Warning:
- Ensure all other ground connections are secure when removing and reattaching the ground stud.

Route and Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector over to the jack storage area.
- Replace the black cargo liner and store the 4-flat wire in the jack compartment when not in use.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the jack storage door, access door, threshold, rear cargo door, and any other items removed during installation.
- Be careful not to pinch or cut the wires.

Test the Installation:
- Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
