Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Appearance Panel:
- Detach the appearance panel covering the trunk pan by removing eight (8) fasteners using a 10mm socket.
- Remove three (3) plastic rivets securing the appearance panel. Use a small screwdriver to remove the center of the rivet.
- Detach the final rivet located behind the wheel well liner using a large screwdriver.

Reinstall Appearance Panel After Trimming:
- The appearance panel will be reinstalled after trimming. Ensure to obtain the vehicle owner's approval before cutting.

Remove Plugs and Tie-Downs:
- Remove the plastic plugs in the frame rails and any tie-downs, if present, on both frame rails. Return these components to the vehicle owner.

Detach Exhaust Hanger:
- Remove the two (2) M8 bolts (using a 12mm socket) holding the exhaust hanger in place. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.

Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch over the exhaust and align it with the existing weld nuts in the frame rail.

Install M12 Bolts:
- Attach the hitch using six (6) M12 x 1.25 x 40mm bolts and six (6) conical washers. Hand-tighten the bolts and ensure the hitch is centered on the vehicle.

Torque Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M12 fasteners to 76 lb-ft (103 N·m).

Reattach Exhaust Hanger:
- Attach the exhaust hanger to the hitch bracket using the retained M8 bolts and the provided conical washers and nuts.
- Torque all M8 fasteners to 20 lb-ft (27 N·m).

Trim Appearance Panel:
- Trim the appearance panel in two places as shown in the instructions. Obtain the vehicle owner's approval before cutting.

Reinstall Appearance Panel:
- Reattach the trimmed appearance panel, sliding the rear of the panel in place first for easier installation.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Lexus RX 330 and Lexus RX 350

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access Rear Wiring:
- Open the rear hatch.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate, storage covers, and floor covering.

Remove Trim Panels:
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the vehicle.
- Remove several trim panel fasteners to detach the panels.
- Set aside all removed parts carefully to avoid damage.

Locate Vehicle Wiring Harness:
- On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- This harness will have a connection point matching the ends of the T-Connector.
- Separate the connector, ensuring the locking tabs are not broken. Clean all connector surfaces of dirt and debris.

Install T-Connector:
- On the driver’s side, insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors. Lock it into place.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are secure.
- Route the T-Connector end with the green/red wires to the passenger’s side, behind the panels and along the threshold. Repeat step 4 for the passenger side.

Ground Connection:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or cross member.
- Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing. Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces.

Connect Power Wires:
- From inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire and the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the exterior frame, or follow the existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment, up to the battery. Avoid areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

Connect to Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Cut the yellow fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal. Secure the ring terminal to the vehicle’s positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Reconnect Battery and Fuse:
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Mount Converter Box:
- Locate a flat surface on the driver’s side and mount the T-Connector black converter box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining harness with the cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.

Reassemble and Test:
- Reinstall the plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, and floor covering removed during installation. Ensure no wires are pinched or cut.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
