Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Remove appearance panel:
- Remove the appearance panel on the driver’s side by detaching 5 plastic rivets, 3 hex nuts, and 2 Phillips head screws located in the wheel well behind the rear tire. This panel needs to be trimmed and reinstalled.
- Clear weld nut threads:
- Run the provided M10 bolt (item 1) into existing weld nuts to clear the threads.
- Reinstall appearance panel:
- If trimmed, reinstall the appearance panel.
- Lower exhaust:
- Remove the rubber isolators from the muffler hangers. Remove the outer isolator first, then the inner isolator. Use lubricant or soapy water to ease removal.
- Prepare frame:
- Tape a flat washer (item 7) to the rearward weld nut location on both frame rails.
- Position hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position under the vehicle.
- Install M10 fasteners:
- Attach the M10 bolts, conical washers, and other hardware as shown in the instructions.
- Install U-bolt:
- Insert the 3/8-16 U-bolt through the vehicle’s tie-down hook and the receiver’s tie-down hook attachment. Secure with flat washers, lock washers, and hex nuts.
- Torque all fasteners:
- Tighten all bolts to the specified torque values.
- Reinstall exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust system back into position and reattach the rubber isolators.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for CR-V

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the rear door of the vehicle and remove the rear threshold, cargo net, and cargo cover to access the driver’s side rear interior trim panel.
Note:
- Folding the rear seat forward may provide easier access.

Remove Interior Trim Panels:
- Use a trim panel remover to carefully remove two plastic panels.
- Partially remove the main trim panel by unscrewing one 10mm bolt, two screws behind the seat lever, one clip, and one cargo hook.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Connectors:
- Gently pull back the upper trim panel to reveal the vehicle’s 13-pin connectors.
- Verify that the connectors match the T-Connector ends and are clean.

Install the T-Connector:
- Locate the T-Connector’s grey 12-pin connector and insert it into the mating connector on the black box module.
- Ensure all connections are fully inserted and secured with locking tabs.

Mount the Black Box Module:
- Mount the black box below the rear threshold in the spare tire compartment in an area free from moisture and away from direct water or liquids.
Warning:
- The black box must only be mounted inside the vehicle to prevent damage.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole.
- Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage.

- Insert the provided 7.5-amp fuse into the appropriate fuse box slot.

Route and Mount the 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the 4-flat connector through the driver-side trim panel into the side storage compartment.
- Store the 4-flat connector in this compartment when not in use.

Test the Installation:
- Test the T-Connector with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition, reinserting it, and turning it to the proper position.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the threshold, trim panel, cargo net, and cargo cover, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.
