Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Spare Tire:
- Lower and remove the spare tire. The tire release is located under the storage compartment in the back of the vehicle.

Remove Rear Plastic Covers:
- Remove the driver-side rear plastic cover by unscrewing the fasteners with a #2 Phillips screwdriver and removing (4) plastic push pins.
- Repeat for the passenger-side rear plastic cover, removing the fasteners and (3) plastic push pins. Save all removed items.

Lower Exhaust:
- Detach the rear and side exhaust hangers to lower the exhaust system.
-
Raise Hitch into Position:
- Lift the hitch into position and insert M12 bolts through the bracket and frame.
- Note: If the bumper locator pin interferes with the hardware, trim it with an angle grinder at the shoulder for proper clearance.

Insert M10 Bolts:
- Insert M10 bolts through the bracket into the frame. Hand-tighten the bolts.
-
Torque Bolts:
- Tighten the M10 bolts first, then the M12 bolts, to the specified torque values below.

Reinstall Exhaust Hangers:
- Reattach the exhaust hangers to their mounts.
-
Trim and Reinstall Plastic Covers:
- Trim the rear plastic covers as shown in Figure 2. Raise them back into position and reinstall the fasteners and push pins removed earlier.
- Note: Obtain the vehicle owner's approval before cutting the plastic covers.

Reinstall Spare Tire:
- Ensure the spare tire is seated properly when reinstalling.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillights:
- Open the rear tailgate and use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the bolts securing the taillights on both driver and passenger sides.
- Carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle, avoiding damage to the alignment pins.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- On the driver’s side, disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the taillight socket.
- Separate the connector without breaking the locking tabs, ensuring the surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Route the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness with the yellow wire underneath the vehicle, up through the opening between the bumper and body, into the driver’s side taillight pocket.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the harness with the green wire across the vehicle crossmember and up through the opening between the bumper and body into the passenger’s side taillight pocket.
Warning:
- Ensure the wires are routed away from hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, and any areas where they may be pinched or damaged.

Connect the T-Connector:
- On the driver’s side, insert the T-Connector with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Repeat for the passenger side using the T-Connector with the green wire.

Mount the T-Connector Black Box:
- Mount the black box near the taillight pocket using the provided double-sided tape or cable ties.
- Ensure the epoxy side faces downward to prevent water accumulation.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver’s side near the connectors.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- On the driver’s side, locate the red power wire from the T-Connector box.
- Attach the black wire provided using the yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through the taillight opening, behind the bumper, and along the exterior frame or thresholds to the engine compartment.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
- Connect the black wire to the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Warning:
- Ensure all connections are complete before testing. Test the system with a test light or trailer.

Secure the Wiring:
