Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open Liftgate:
- Begin by accessing the rear of the vehicle through the liftgate.

Remove Mud Flaps and Fasteners:
- Remove five Torx screws from each mud flap using T25 and T15 sockets:
- Four screws are in the wheel well, and one is on the bottom of the mud flap (includes a nut attached to the bottom screw).
- Repeat for both sides.
- Remove five Torx screws from each mud flap using T25 and T15 sockets:

Detach Lower Bumper Fascia Screws:
- Remove four T25 Torx screws from the bottom of the bumper fascia.

Detach Wheel Well Trim:
- Remove one fastener from the bottom rear of the wheel well trim. Pull the trim away from the vehicle carefully (only halfway) to access underlying screws.
- Remove one T25 screw from the side and one from underneath the trim on both sides.

Remove Taillights:
- Volkswagen Touareg:
- Remove circular and rectangular pop-out covers inside the trunk to access the fasteners.
- Loosen plastic nuts using an 11mm socket with a 6” extension. Carefully remove the taillights, disconnecting electrical plugs.
- Porsche Cayenne:
- Remove the black panel cover, then unscrew three fasteners per taillight. Slide out the lights and disconnect plugs.
- Audi Q7:
- Remove four Torx screws from each wheel well and five screws from the bumper fascia bottom. Access and remove four 10mm nuts from inside the spare tire well.
- Volkswagen Touareg:

Remove Bumper Fascia:
- Carefully pull the bumper fascia away from the vehicle, starting at the wheel wells. Disconnect any electrical connections before complete removal.

Remove Styrofoam Insert (if present):

Remove Bumper Bolts:

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Volkswagen Touareg

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle's taillight assemblies.
- Temporarily remove all floor coverings and storage trays to expose the spare tire compartment.
- Using a T-30 Torx driver, remove the four cargo latches (two on each side).
- Carefully pry the two small trim pieces and the rear threshold plate using a trim panel tool, avoiding damage to clips.

Remove Interior Trim Panels:
- Partially remove the lower interior trim panels on both sides.
- Locate the white plastic bolt assembly securing each taillight. Use an 11mm socket or wrench to unscrew the bolts and carefully remove the assemblies.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Harness:
- On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness and separate the connectors. Clean all connector surfaces to remove dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- From inside the vehicle, route the T-Connector end with the yellow wire out through the square hole to the driver’s side taillight pocket.
- Plug the T-Connector between the vehicle's wiring connectors and ensure it is securely locked.

- Route the T-Connector with the green wire down the threshold to the passenger side. Repeat Step 4 for the passenger side.

- Disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the provided yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the ring terminal.
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire to the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.

Route the Black Wire:
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the vehicle’s frame or thresholds to the engine compartment, avoiding areas that may pinch or damage the wire.
Warning:
- Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or other areas that may damage the wire.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Mount the Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface and mount the black converter box using double-sided tape.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the taillight housing assemblies and secure the vehicle wiring harness.
