Installation Instructions for Ford Pickup – Full Size with 8' Box and 6' Box Extended Cab Only

Wiring Access Location:

Tools Required:
- Wrenches: 18mm, 21mm, 3/4", 13/16", 7/8"
- Drill: 9/16" Drill Bit
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Vehicles Without Factory Step Bumper:
- Using the existing holes in the frame rails, bolt the reinforcement brackets inside each frame rail.
- Secure using:
- (2) 9/16" x 1.50" hex bolts
- (2) 9/16" locknuts
- Ensure reinforcement brackets rest tightly against the frame rail flanges.

Vehicles With Factory Step Bumper:
- Remove and discard the rearmost bolt attaching each bumper bracket to the frame side rails.
- Install reinforcement brackets inside each frame rail as shown in the diagram.
- Secure using:
- (2) 9/16" x 1.50" hex bolts
- (2) 9/16" locknuts

Position Hitch:
- Center the receiver on the vehicle frame with notches in the hitch flanges positioned over the rivets in the frame.

Drill Frame Holes:
- Using the receiver as a template, drill three (3) 9/16" holes into the bottom of each frame rail.

Install Fasteners:
- Place blocks inside the frame rails, ensuring the wider sides of the blocks are positioned inward, away from the frame rails.
- Install fasteners as shown in the diagram.

Tighten All Fasteners:
- Torque all 9/16" GR5 fasteners to 120 lb-ft (163 N*m).
Torque Specifications:
- 9/16" GR5 bolts: 120 lb-ft (163 N*m)
Hardware List:
- (6) Hex Bolts, 9/16" x 1.75" GR5
- (2) Hex Bolts, 9/16" x 1.50" GR5
- (4) Blocks, 3/8" x 1-1/2" x 3"
- (2) Reinforcement Brackets
- (8) Flanged Locknuts
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
