Installation Instructions for Dodge Ram Pickup Truck

Wiring Access Location:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare Frame Holes:
- If necessary, enlarge existing 12mm (0.47") holes in the frame to 9/16" (0.56").

Modify Bolt Strap:
- Remove the bumper bolt strap and bolt from the bumper frame assembly on one side only.
- Cut the bolt strap in half as shown in Figure 2.
- Loosely reinstall bumper fasteners and the reinforcement bracket inside the frame.

Repeat Steps for the Opposite Side:
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the opposite side of the vehicle.

Insert Hex Bolts:
- Insert one 9/16"-18 x 2.00 GR5 hex bolt and a hardened flat washer into the first attachment holes in each frame rail (see Figure 1).
- Insert one 9/16"-18 x 2.00 GR5 hex bolt and a spacer into the forward attachment holes in each frame rail.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and loosely attach fasteners to bolts as shown in Figure 1.

Center Hitch and Secure Fasteners:
- Center the hitch and install the remaining fasteners as shown in Figure 1.
- Tighten all 9/16"-18 GR5 fasteners to 110 lb-ft (149 N*m).
Torque Specifications:
- 9/16"-18 GR5 bolts: 110 lb-ft (149 N*m)
Hardware List:
- (8) Hex Bolts, 9/16"-18 x 2.00 GR5
- (2) Spacers, 3/8" x 1-1/2" x 3"
- (4) Spacers, 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2"
- (8) Flanged Locknuts, 9/16"-18
- (1) Reinforcement Bracket (Driver Side)
- (1) Reinforcement Bracket (Passenger Side)
- (2) Hardened Flat Washers, 9/16"
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the frame rails or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare Frame Holes:
