Installation Instructions for GMC Safari Van and Chevrolet Astro Van (Extended Body)

Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Remove two bolts per side attaching the bumper bracket to the frame.
- Note: The bumper and bracket will remain rigidly attached to the vehicle when these bolts are removed.
- Lift the receiver into position, centering slots in the side bracket over the weldnuts in the frame.
- Install the M10 bolts removed in Step #1.
- Install M10 x 1.50 x 35mm hex bolts and conical toothed washers through the slots in the frame into the weldnuts.
- Tighten all M10 fasteners to 42 lb-ft.
Hardware List:
- (2) M10 x 1.50 x 35mm CL10.9 Hex Bolts
- (2) Conical Toothed Washers
- (2) Existing M10 Bolts (removed in Step #1)
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently, ensuring all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent the entry of water and exhaust fumes.
- Replace any hitch or ball that has been damaged.
- Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection.
- Follow the vehicle manufacturer's specifications for maximum trailer weight and tongue weight.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
