Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Hyundai Elantra

Tools Required:
- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- 1/4” Socket
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Test Probe
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Trunk:
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner on both sides, exposing the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness plugged directly into the taillight socket.
- Separate this connector carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors.
- Ensure connectors are fully inserted and locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® T-Connector end with the green wire under the felt trunk liner to the passenger-side taillight wiring harness.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger-side T-Connector.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector (provided).
Warning: Follow all warnings and cautions related to the tow vehicle’s battery.

Route the Black Power Wire:
- Route the black wire out of the engine compartment along the exterior frame or through the interior, following the existing wiring to the rear of the vehicle.
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or any areas that may pinch or damage the wire.

Connect the Black Power Wire:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the black wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the T-Connector Black Box:
- Mount the T-One® T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the wiring harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that may pinch or damage the wires.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and other components removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.
Specifications:
- Max. stop/turn light: 2 per side (4.2 amps)
- Max. tail lights: 7.5 amps
