Installation Instructions for Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche Vehicles

- Test probe
- Trim panel remover
- 8mm socket
- Torx T20 driver
Step-by-Step Instructions:
For Volkswagen
Step 1: Locate the brake control plug.
- The plug may be located under the dashboard or behind the lower kick panel near the emergency brake pedal.
Step 2: Access the brake control connector (dashboard location).
- Remove two Torx T20 screws securing the lower dashboard panel.
- Pull down the panel to locate the 4-pin connector wrapped in grey foam tape.
Step 3: Access the brake control connector (kick panel location).
- Remove the lower kick panel and door sill as needed.
- Locate the mating connector wrapped in grey foam tape.
Step 4: Connect the brake control adapter.
- Plug the adapter into the vehicle’s electric brake control harness connector.
- Follow all brake control manufacturer installation instructions.
For Audi
Step 1: Remove the lower dashboard panel.
- Under the dashboard, locate and remove two 8mm bolts securing the lower panel.
- Remove the two small trim panels on each side of the steering column.
Step 2: Locate the brake control connector.
- The connector is centered behind the dashboard between the steering column and the radio.
- It will be wrapped in grey foam tape.
Step 3: Connect the brake control adapter.
- Plug the adapter into the vehicle’s electric brake control harness connector.
- Follow all brake control manufacturer installation instructions.
For Porsche
Step 1: Locate the brake control plug.
- Find the mating connector behind the dashboard on the right side of the steering wheel.
- The connector will be wrapped in grey foam tape.
Step 2: Connect the brake control adapter.
- Plug the adapter into the vehicle’s electric brake control harness connector.
- Follow all brake control manufacturer installation instructions.
Step 3: Reinstall removed components.
- Reinstall all removed plastic trim panels, thresholds, storage covers, floor coverings, and other items.
- Ensure wires are not pinched or cut during reinstallation.
Safety Notes:
- Always disconnect the battery before beginning installation.
- Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer’s rating or the following limits:
- Maximum 4 axles: 8 brakes (24 amps).
- Wear safety glasses and use appropriate safety precautions during installation.
- Read and follow all instructions included with the brake control and vehicle manuals.
