Installation Instructions for Toyota 4Runner (Front Mounted Receiver)

Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- 14mm Socket
- 19mm Socket
- Torque Wrench
- Soapy Water or Small Wire Brush (optional)
- Safety Glasses
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Existing Flange Bolts:
- Remove the (2) lower flange bolts from the end of the frame rail on both sides.
- Set the bolts aside for reuse in later steps. (See Figure 2).

Clean Frame Weldnuts:
- Use the M12 bolts to clean out any debris in the existing weldnuts on the side of the frame rail.
- Use soapy water or a small wire brush as needed.
- Remove the bolts after cleaning.

Install the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position.
- Rotate the hitch as needed to maneuver it between the fascia and the end of the frame rail (see Figure 1).

Secure the Hitch to the Frame Rail:
- Loosely install the provided M12 bolts and conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) into the weldnuts on the side of the frame rail.
- Repeat for both sides.

Reinstall Flange Bolts:
- Reinstall the existing flange bolts removed in Step 1 into the end of the frame rail.

Torque All Fasteners:
- Torque all M10 fasteners to 48 lb-ft (65 N-m).
- Torque all M12 CL 10.9 fasteners to 86 lb-ft (116 N-m).
Hardware List:
- (2) M12 x 1.25 x 40mm CL 10.9 Hex Bolts
- (2) 1/2” Conical Washers
Safety Notes:
- Periodically check the hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the frame to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Warning: Do not exceed the vehicle’s Front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).
- Maximum Cargo Capacity: 500 lbs.
- Maximum Winch Line Pull: 9,000 lbs.
Manufacturer Notes:
- Always wear eye protection when working beneath the vehicle.
- Do NOT cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
- This product complies with SAE J684 and VESC Regulation V-5 safety standards.
