Specifications:
- Rated for trailer tongues with the following dimensions:
- 2"x3", 3"x3", 3"x4", or 3"x5".

Safety Notes:
- Do not exceed the rated capacity of the coupler, actuator, or trailer pivot length.
- Attach safety chains behind the castings on the trailer tongue, not to the coupler or swing tongue.
- Inspect swing tongue components for wear or damage before towing.
- Ensure all bolts, pins, and safety chains are secured before towing.
- Avoid pinching wiring or brake lines between hinges.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Preparation:
- Read all safety instructions for tools being used.
- Support the trailer tongue with a jack stand behind the cutting area.
- Remove all wiring and brake lines from the trailer tongue before cutting or drilling.
Measuring and Cutting:
- Measure and mark the desired swing length from the coupler ball pocket.
- Ensure the mark is at least 5” from any obstructions.
- Cut the trailer tongue along the mark and remove any sharp edges or burrs.
Safety Chain Installation:
- Drill 1/2” holes for safety chain bolts 4” from the cut end and 1” from the bottom.
- Attach chains with 1/2” bolts and locknuts, torqued to 45 ft-lbs.
Castings Installation (Bolt-On):
- Place the male casting on the trailer tongue and secure temporarily with a clamp.
- Drill progressively larger holes (1/8” → 1/4” → 3/8” → 1/2”).
- Attach the casting using the provided shoulder bolts and flange nuts. Torque to 75 ft-lbs.
Castings Installation (Weld-On):
- Weld the casting to the trailer tongue on all four sides using a 3/16” minimum fillet weld.
Final Assembly:
- Attach the swing tongue to the trailer tongue by mating the castings together.
- Apply grease to the pivot bolt and secure with a locknut torqued to 50 ft-lbs.
- Insert the hinge pin and secure it with a hairpin cotter.
- Verify the swing tongue operation.
Wiring and Chain Rerouting:
- Route wiring through the swing tongue, avoiding sharp edges.
- Attach the coupler using bolts torqued to 75 ft-lbs.
- Ensure safety chains are routed correctly and do not bind.
Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain annually:
- Check welds and bolt torque.
- Grease pivot points and oil moving parts.
- Inspect safety chains and wiring for wear or damage.
