Installation Instructions for Motor Home Hitch Kit

Hardware List:
- 1/2"-13 x 1-3/4" GR5 Coarse Threaded Carriage Bolt
- 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 2" Block (1540)

- 9/16"-18 x 1-1/2" GR5 Fine Threaded Hex Bolt

- Hardened Flanged Locknut
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Slide Side Brackets:
- Slide the side brackets onto the receiver cross tube.
2. Position and Clamp:
- Position and clamp the side brackets to the bottom of the vehicle frame so the receiver tube with the ball mount is centered on the vehicle and provides adequate coupler clearance.
3. Mark and Drill:
- Using the side brackets as templates, drill two (2) holes into the frame with a 1/2" drill bit.
4. Install Carriage Bolts:
- Install 1/2"-13 x 1-3/4" GR5 coarse-threaded carriage bolts and blocks into drilled holes in the frame and side brackets. Bolts and blocks may need trimming to avoid obstruction or bumper interference.
- Loosely install lock washers and nuts. Remove clamps.
5. Drill Cross Tube Holes:
- Center the receiver cross tube on the vehicle and clamp it to prevent movement while drilling.
- Drill two 9/16" holes through the walls of the cross tube at the template locations.
- Secure with 9/16"-18 x 1-1/2" fine-threaded hex bolts, flat washers, and flanged locknuts.
Torque Specifications:
- 1/2"-13 GR5 Coarse Threaded Carriage Bolts: Tighten to 75 ft-lbs
- 9/16"-18 GR5 Fine Threaded Hex Bolts: Tighten to 110 ft-lbs
Notes:
- Ensure the cross tube is flush or extends through the side bracket (refer to Figures 1 and 2 for correct installation).
- If the cross tube is trimmed, coat bare metal with paint to prevent corrosion.
