Installation Instructions for Tongue Jacks
General Instructions:
- Read, understand, and follow these instructions before mounting the jack.
- Confirm there is no interference from the tow vehicle, tongue, ground, or any mounted accessories while stationary or in motion.
- Check all positions (including handle swing and swivel positions) for interference both before and after installation.
Tools Required:
- Torque wrench (set to 25 ft. lbs.)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Bolt-On Rack Jack Instructions:
- Place the gear housing on the tongue.
- Insert the supplied bolts into the holes corresponding to the tongue width.
- Place the mounting bracket below the tongue with the flat surface against the tongue.
- Secure with locknuts and torque to 25 ft. lbs.
Safety Notes:
- Never position any part of the body under the product or the load being supported.
- Fully retract and rotate the jack before towing.
- Remove any drop foot or caster before towing to maximize ground clearance.
- Secure the load, vehicle, and trailer to prevent rolling (use wheel blocks).
- Avoid excessive side forces, as they may cause jack failure.
- Do not exceed the maximum rated capacity of the jack, footplate, or caster wheel. Refer to product markings or contact the manufacturer if uncertain.
- Ensure the supplied pin is fully inserted through both sides of the inner and drop tubes before using the jack.
Maintenance:
- Check for wear and replace damaged components as needed.
- Lubricate internal gearing and bushings annually with automotive grease.
- In marine environments, flush with fresh water and reapply lubricants to prevent corrosion.
