Installation Instructions for Adapter Kit for Dodge '02 and Newer 1500 Trucks

- Drill with 17/32” and 1” Drill Bits
- Torque Wrench
- Pull Wire for Rib Neck Bolts (included in the kit)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Pre-Installation:

Read Safety Instructions:
- Review all safety and general guidelines in the provided manual or installation guide.
- Failure to follow safety precautions may result in damage or injury.

Inspect for Obstructions:
- Check for hazards such as fuel or brake lines before drilling holes.

Verify Kit Contents:
- Confirm that the kit includes tube spacers, 4 1/2” carriage bolts, and brackets.
Installation Process:

Position Base Rails:
- Measure from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail:
- Short Bed Trucks: 26 5/16”
- Long Bed Trucks: 28 5/16”
- Measure from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail:

Drill Holes:
- Use a 17/32” drill bit to drill through the truck bed sill.
- Enlarge the opening in the truck bed using a 1” drill bit.

Install Tube Spacers:
- Drop the tube spacers into the drilled holes to prevent crushing the bed sill when bolts are torqued.

Attach Brackets:
- Use the provided 4 1/2” carriage bolts and rib neck bolts:
- Forward Brackets (Row 2): Position against the rear side of the bed sill.
- Rear Brackets (Row 3): Align brackets and drill only through the wall of the frame where the bracket will be mounted.
- Use the provided 4 1/2” carriage bolts and rib neck bolts:

Install Rib Neck Bolts:
- Use the included pull wire to guide rib neck bolts through access holes in the truck frame.

Optional Welding:
- For increased durability, apply the optional weld pattern as outlined in the manual.
Important Notes:
- Do not drill through both walls of the truck frame.
- Verify that the kingpin center is aligned with the axle center for proper load distribution.
- Ensure there are no dimensional discrepancies in the bed sill placement that could cause interference during installation.
- Always inspect for obstructions before drilling.

- Periodically inspect bolts and re-torque them to ensure secure installation.
- Check drilled areas for signs of corrosion and apply paint as needed.
