Wiring Access Location:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Raise the Vehicle:
- Lift the vehicle for easier access to the frame and exhaust.
-
Lower the Exhaust:
- Remove the rubber isolator from the muffler support to lower the exhaust.
- Temporarily remove the exhaust hanger for easier trimming of the heat shield and hitch installation.

Trim Heat Shield:
- Use tin snips to trim the heat shield on both sides as shown in the instructions.
- Exercise caution as the edges may be sharp.

Remove Foam Tape:
- Remove the foam tape covering the holes at the bottom and inside the vehicle frame.
- Save the tape to cover unused holes after installation.

Fishwire Carriage Bolts:
- Use the provided fishwire to install carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the access holes in the frame and position them at the attachment points on both sides.

Position the Hitch:
- Gently lift the rear fascia and slide the hitch over the exhaust into position.
- Raise the hitch to the frame without pushing fasteners back into the frame.
- Loosely install conical washers and nuts.

Install Forward Attachment:
- Slide the provided spacer block between the hitch and frame at the forward attachment point.
- Use the fishwire to install carriage bolts and blocks through the forward attachment holes.
- Secure with conical washers and nuts.

Install First Attachment:
- Insert the fishwire through the first attachment hole in the hitch and into the frame.
- Guide it back to exit the end of the bumper.
- Install bolts and blocks through the first attachment hole and secure with conical washers and nuts.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Pull the hitch rearward as much as possible and tighten all fasteners.
- Torque all 7/16” fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m).

Reinstall the Exhaust:
- Reattach the muffler hanger and rubber isolators removed earlier.
- Cut the foam tape and use it to cover unused holes in the frame.

- (4) 7/16"-14 x 1-1/2” Grade 5 Carriage Bolts
- (2) 7/16"-14 x 2” Grade 5 Carriage Bolts
- (6) 7/16" Conical Washers
- (6) 7/16"-14 Hex Nuts
- (4) 1/4” x 1” x 3” Spacer Blocks
- (2) 1/2” x 1-1/4” x 2-1/2” Spacer Blocks
- (2) 3/16” x 1” x 2” Spacer Blocks
- (2) 7/16” Fishwires
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
