Installation Instructions for Trailer Hitch

- 6" Socket Extension
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Factory Tow Loop:
- Remove (3) bolts and the factory tow loop from the passenger-side frame rail.
- Return the bolts and tow loop to the vehicle owner.
2. Install Carriage Bolts and Blocks:
- Insert (2) carriage bolts and blocks into the existing holes on the side of the frame rails.
- Adjust the carriage bolts so they are flush with the inside of the frame rails.
- Note: On the driver side, install carriage bolts by reaching between the bumper fascia and over the carbon canister.
3. Position and Secure the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, guiding the carriage bolts through the holes in the hitch.
- Install 1/2" conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) and 1/2"-13 hex nuts onto the carriage bolts.
- Tip: Raise the driver side first, guiding the side bracket around the carbon canister, then raise the passenger side into position.
4. Attach Forward Fasteners:
- Loosely install M10 hex bolts with 7/16" conical washers (teeth side toward the hitch) into the existing weld nuts on the bottom of the frame rails.
5. Tighten All Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2"-13 GR5 carriage bolts to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Torque all M10 CL8.8 bolts to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m).
Hardware List:
- 4 × Carriage Bolts (1/2"-13 × 4.00", GR5)
- 2 × Spacer Blocks (0.25" × 1.50" × 4.00" with square holes)
- 4 × Conical Washers (1/2")
- 4 × Hex Nuts (1/2"-13)
- 2 × Hex Bolts (M10 × 1.25 × 30 mm, CL8.8)
- 2 × Conical Washers (7/16")
Safety Notes:
- Always wear safety glasses during installation.
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

- Trim Panel Remover
- 10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Cutters
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Test Probe
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Open the Rear Hatch:
- Partially remove the plastic threshold cover, side panels, and cargo trays to expose the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
- Using a 10mm socket or wrench, remove the 10mm bolts holding the cargo hooks in place.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s wiring harness from both taillight sockets.
- Separate the connector carefully, ensuring not to break the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors and lock it into place.
- Be careful not to damage the locking tabs and ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

Mount the T-One® Black Box:
- On the driver’s side, mount the T-One® Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining harness with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or damage the wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
- If no grounding point is available, drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Clean the grounding area of dirt and rustproofing before securing.
Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-One® Connector harness containing the green wire behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger-side taillight pocket.

Connect the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the passenger-side wiring connectors and lock it into place.
- Ensure all connectors are fully inserted and the locking tabs are engaged.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
- Attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable and secure it.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
Warning: Avoid routing the power wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or fuel tanks.

Route the Power Wire:
- Starting from the front of the vehicle, route the black wire along the frame rail to the rear.
- Avoid areas that may pinch, cut, or damage the wire.

Connect the Power Wire to the Black Box:
- Connect the black 12-gauge wire to the black power wire on the T-One® Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall all panels, storage trays, and other items removed during installation.
- Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Mount the 4-Flat Connector:
- Secure the trailer tow harness in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
