Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- Torque Wrench
- Safety Glasses
- Socket: 19 mm
- 6" Socket Extension
- Tin Snips
- Wire Brush
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove the Tie Down Bracket:
- Remove the tie down bracket and return the bracket and mounting bolts to the customer.
2. Trim Carbon Canister Shield:
- Use tin snips to trim the bottom rear corner of the carbon canister shield as required.
3. Clean Weldnuts:
- If necessary, clean the weldnuts (3 per side) used to attach the hitch using a wire brush and compressed air.
4. Install the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and install the following hardware into the weldnuts on each side:
- (3) M12 bolts
- (3) 1/2" flat washers
- (3) 1/2" lock washers
5. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M12 CL8.8 fasteners to 76 ft-lbs (103 N·m).
Note:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball before use.
- Observe safety precautions while working beneath the vehicle, and always wear eye protection.
- Do not use a torch to cut access or attachment holes.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Jumper Harness Installation:

Insert Relays:
- Insert two small relays and one large relay into the relay jumper harness, ensuring the relays are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
Warning: Using different relays than those included can damage the vehicle or the trailer.

Remove the Rear Threshold:
- Open the rear hatch and raise the cargo floor panel.
- Use a panel puller to carefully remove the rear threshold by prying upwards.

Remove Rear Subwoofer (if equipped):
- Unscrew the retaining bolt at the top of the speaker.
- Disconnect the speaker connector and set the subwoofer aside.

Remove Trim Panels:
- Remove three 10mm bolts in the cargo area.
- Use a panel puller to remove retaining clips.
- Fold the rear seats forward and rotate the cargo assembly onto the folded seats.

Access Jumper Harness Connectors:
- Remove cargo loops and trim panels on the driver’s side.
- Locate the jumper harness connectors and connect them to the relay jumper harness.

Secure and Reassemble:
- Secure the harness with provided cable ties.
- Reinstall all removed panels, trim, and storage covers, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.
Tow Plug Harness Installation:

Insert Relays into the Relay Box:
- Open the hood and locate the relay box behind the driver-side headlight.
- Insert two blue relays into the open cavities, ensuring the relays are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

Locate Tow Plug Harness:
- Underneath the vehicle, locate the grey 6-pin connector behind the rear bumper near the center of the vehicle.
- Remove the protective cap from the vehicle’s tow plug and connect the tow plug harness.

Secure Ground Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Route and Secure the 4-Flat Harness:
- Route the 4-flat harness rearward to the back of the fascia of the bumper.
- Secure the 4-flat connector to the hitch (bracket not included).

Test the Installation:
- Verify the installation with a test light or trailer. Reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
Warning: Overloading circuits can cause fires. Do not exceed the lower of the towing manufacturer rating or:
- Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (7.5 amps)
- Max. tail lights: (7.5 amps)
