Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Exhaust Tips:
- Use a T40 driver to remove (2) bolts from the bottom of the exhaust tips on each side.
2. Lower Exhaust:
- Use a 10mm socket to remove (1) bolt from each exhaust hanger bracket.
- Lower the muffler, ensuring it is supported during the process.
3. Remove Taillights:
- Open the trunk and remove (1) plastic wing nut inside on each side.
- Disconnect the wiring and carefully remove the taillights.
4. Loosen Heat Shield:
- Use an 8mm socket to remove (6) flange nuts securing the heat shield.
- Rest the heat shield on the muffler without removing it from the vehicle.
5. Remove Bumper Fascia:
- Use a 10mm socket and flat head screwdriver to remove:
- (2) plastic rivets and (2) bolts at the bottom of the fascia per side.
- (1) plastic rivet and (1) bolt at the rear wheel well trim panel per side.
- Gently unclip the rear wheel well trim panels and remove the fascia, ensuring all wiring is unplugged.
6. Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use a 16mm socket to remove (4) flange nuts inside the bumper panel on each side.
- Unclip wiring attached to the passenger-side bumper beam and remove the bumper.
7. Install Hitch:
- Apply silicone sealant around the openings on the end panels on each side.
- Align the hitch with the bumper beam's welded bolts and place them through the original bumper mounting holes.
- Loosely fasten the nuts.
8. Trim Heat Shield:
- Locate the center of the heat shield and trim a 2" tall x 4.5" wide area as shown in the diagram.
- Additional trimming may be needed.
9. Reassemble Components:
- Torque all bumper beam fasteners to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m).
- For Sport Models: Slightly trim the rear fascia bottom if necessary.
- Reinstall the heat shield, fascia, and exhaust system using the original hardware.
Safety Notes:
- Regularly check all fasteners to ensure the hitch is securely attached.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
