Installation Instructions for Lincoln MKC (2015–Current)

Wiring Access Location:

• SUV1, SUV2

Tools Required:

• Wrenches: 10mm, 13mm, 11/16"
• Torque Wrench
• Safety Glasses
• Die Grinder
• 6" Socket Extension

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Lower Exhaust:

   • Remove the two (2) 8mm bolts from the hanger brackets on both sides of the vehicle.

2. Enlarge Access Hole:

   • Use a die grinder to enlarge the access hole on both sides of the vehicle frame rail. This allows the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers to fit.

3. Fishwire Hardware:

   • Use fishwire to guide the 7/16" carriage bolts and spacers through the enlarged access hole to the mounting holes in the frame rail. Leave fishwires attached for later use.

4. Install Side Brackets:

   • Raise the side brackets over the fishwires, remove the fishwires, and install conical washers and nuts on both sides. Hand-tighten only.

5. Position Hitch:

   • Slide the hitch into position over the exhaust from the rear passenger side.

6. Attach Hitch to Side Brackets:

   • Bolt the hitch to the side brackets using 7/16" carriage bolts, conical washers, and nuts. Hand-tighten only.

7. Reattach Hanger Brackets:

   • Sandwich four (4) 0.25" x 1" x 1.5" spacers between each hanger bracket and the frame rail. Reattach the hanger brackets with the provided M8 bolts.

8. Torque Fasteners:

   • Tighten all M8 CL10.9 fasteners to 20 lb-ft (27 N*m).
   • Tighten all 7/16" GR5 fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N*m).

• Qty (4): Spacer – 1/4" x 7/8" x 3"

• Qty (10): Hex Nut – 7/16"-14 GR2

• Qty (8): Spacer – 0.250 x 1.00 x 1.50 (round hole)
• Qty (4): Bolt – M8 x 1.25 x 40mm CL10.9
• Qty (4): Lock Washer – 5/16"
• Qty (4): Flat Washer – 5/16"

Safety Notes:

• Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
• Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
• Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle and wear eye protection.
• Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
