Installation Steps:
Step 1: Prepare for Installation
- Clean the vehicle roof and ensure all components are free from debris or damage.
- Measure and mark the correct cross bar positions based on the vehicle specifications:
- Front Bar Position: 11.8 inches (300 mm)
- Rear Bar Position: 27.5 inches (700 mm)
Step 2: Assemble Cross Bars
- Slide the outer under-cover strips out of the cross bars.
- Insert the position slider tabs into the rails and align them with the X and Y measurement scales provided for your vehicle.
- Attach the end supports by sliding them into the rails until they meet the position slider tabs.
Step 3: Install Door Frame Straps and Gasket Pads
- Open the end support covers and install the door frame straps.
- Attach the gasket pads to the end supports, ensuring they align with the roof edge.
Step 4: Position and Secure Cross Bars
- Place the cross bars onto the roof at the measured positions.
- Adjust the end supports so they align with the vehicle’s door frame.
- Tighten the tensioning bolts alternately using the torque wrench until the 4Nm marking aligns.
- Secure the door frame straps firmly against the vehicle frame.
Step 5: Install Buffer Strips
- Measure and cut the buffer strips to fit the length of the cross bars.
- Insert the buffer strips into the cross bar slots, leaving no gaps.
Step 6: Finalize Installation
- Test the installation by gently pushing and pulling the cross bars to ensure they are secure.
- Close and lock the end support covers using the quarter-turn plugs.
Maintenance Tips:
- Periodically check and re-tighten all bolts and straps.
- Lubricate locks and bolts to prevent corrosion.
