Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Detach the exhaust from the rubber isolator. Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to assist removal.

Trim Heat Shield:
- Remove the rearward M6 bolt securing the heat shield and return it to the vehicle owner.
- Trim the heat shield to allow access to the passenger-side frame rail hole. Refer to Figure 3.

Remove Charcoal Canister:
- Remove the M8 bolt securing the black box (charcoal canister) to the frame. Slide the box forward to remove.

Drill Access Holes:
- Using a 1” hole saw, drill access holes into the driver and passenger-side frame rails aligned with the existing holes. This will allow insertion of the handle nuts. Refer to Figure 2.

Install Handle Nuts:
- Insert the 1/2” handle nuts into the frame through the drilled holes.
-
Install Tie-Down Hook Hardware:
- Attach the 1/2” carriage bolt and spacer to the tie-down hook as shown in Figure 1.

Apply Galvanic Isolators:
- Attach the clear galvanic isolators to the passenger-side bracket. Refer to Figure 1.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position. Install a conical washer and hex nut on the tie-down attachment but do not fully tighten at this stage.

Attach Remaining Fasteners:
- Feed the 1/2” fasteners through the slots on both sides of the hitch and install as shown in Figure 1.
- Note: On the passenger side, sandwich the heat shield between the frame rail and the hitch.

Center Hitch:
- Align and center the hitch on the vehicle.
-
Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners with handle nuts to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
- Torque all other 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).

Reinstall Charcoal Canister:
- Reattach the charcoal canister removed in Step 3.

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Reattach the exhaust to the rubber isolator.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Nissan Sentra

- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:
- Open the trunk.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.
-
Locate the Vehicle’s Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver and passenger sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully to avoid damaging the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the green wire behind the panels and along the threshold to the passenger-side taillight wiring harness.
- Repeat Step 3 using the green wire T-Connector.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- From inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet and along the vehicle’s exterior frame or thresholds to the engine compartment.
Warning:
- Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or areas where the wire could be pinched or damaged.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the provided yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the ring terminal.
- Connect the black wire to the fuse holder using the yellow butt connector.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Warning:
- Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.

Mount the Black Box:
