Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove the Fascia Door:
- If present, remove the fascia door.
2. Install Carriage Bolts and Blocks:
- Feed the carriage bolt and large block through slots on the bottom of the frame rails using the pull wire as shown in Figure 3.
3. Position the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, lifting the bumper mounting bracket over the fascia where necessary.
- Secure the hitch using M12 bolts and conical washers into the existing weld nuts. Be cautious not to push the bolts into the frame (Figure 1).
4. Install Hardware:
- Thread the conical washer over the pull wire to hold the bolt in place, remove the pull wire, and attach the hex nut.
- Hand-tighten all bolts.
5. Secure to Bumper:
- For vehicles without weld nuts:
Pull carriage bolts and small blocks through the end of the bumper and the bumper mounting bracket using the pull wire. Attach the conical washer and nut. - For vehicles with weld nuts:
Install the M12 bolts and conical washers into the existing weld nuts on the bumper (Figure 2).
6. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
- Torque all M12 CL10.9 fasteners to 92 lb-ft (125 N·m).
7. Replace or Modify Fascia Door:
- Replace the fascia door for 2005-2015 Equinox models.
- For 2016 and newer models, trim the fascia door as shown in Figure 4 (obtain the owner's permission before trimming).
- Return fascia doors to the owner for other models.

Access the Wiring Harness Area:

- Open the rear tailgate.
- Locate the jack storage compartment on the driver’s side.
- Remove the panel and tire jack to access the harness area.

Part 1: Install the 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter
