Installation Instructions for Toyota Tacoma

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Support the Bumper:
- Use a support to keep the bumper structure from swinging out of position during installation.

Remove and Loosen Fasteners:
- Referring to Figure 2, remove (2) M12 hex washer bolts from the bumper bracket as shown and loosen the other (3) bolts. Repeat this process on both sides of the vehicle.

Raise Hitch Into Position:
- Raise the hitch so the side brackets are sandwiched between the bumper brackets and frame rails. Install (4) M12 x 1.25 x 40 bolts with washers and finger tighten (see Figure 3).

Reinstall Hex Washer Bolts:
- Loosely reinstall the (4) hex washer bolts removed in Step 2.

Insert Spacers:
- Remove (2) hex washer bolts from one side of the bumper bracket and bumper structure as shown in Figure 4.
- Insert (2) spacers between the bumper bracket and the side of the bumper structure. Reinsert the bolts through the bracket, spacers, and holes in the bumper structure. Finger tighten.

Repeat for Opposite Side:
- Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the other side of the bumper.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Tighten all M12 fasteners to 105 lb-ft (142 N·m) using a torque wrench.

- (4) M12 x 1.25 x 40mm Hex Bolts
- (4) 1/2" Conical Washers
- (4) Spacers

- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.

Toyota Tacoma:

Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle’s tail lights.
- Carefully pry the housings away from the vehicle, being cautious not to break the alignment tabs.

Locate the vehicle’s wiring harness attached to each tail light housing.
- The connectors will match the ends of the T-Connector adapter.

On the driver’s side, plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the wiring connections.
- Ensure the T-Connector is fully inserted with the locking tabs in place.

Route the T-Connector harness:
- Pass the green wire and the 4-flat connector out through the hole between the bumper and the vehicle body.
- Route the green wire to the passenger side, avoiding any areas that could pinch or damage the wire.
