• Wrenches: 10mm, 17mm, 19mm
• Drill Bits: None

Wiring Access Location:

• PU3, PU4

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Support the Bumper:

   • Use a support to keep the bumper structure from swinging out of position during installation.

2. Remove and Loosen Fasteners:

   • Referring to Figure 2, remove (2) M12 hex washer bolts from the bumper bracket as shown and loosen the other (3) bolts. Repeat this process on both sides of the vehicle.

3. Raise Hitch Into Position:

   • Raise the hitch so the side brackets are sandwiched between the bumper brackets and frame rails. Install (4) M12 x 1.25 x 40 bolts with washers and finger tighten (see Figure 3).

4. Reinstall Hex Washer Bolts:

   • Loosely reinstall the (4) hex washer bolts removed in Step 2.

5. Insert Spacers:

   • Remove (2) hex washer bolts from one side of the bumper bracket and bumper structure as shown in Figure 4.
   • Insert (2) spacers between the bumper bracket and the side of the bumper structure. Reinsert the bolts through the bracket, spacers, and holes in the bumper structure. Finger tighten.

6. Repeat for Opposite Side:

   • Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the other side of the bumper.

7. Tighten Fasteners:

   • Tighten all M12 fasteners to 105 lb-ft (142 N·m) using a torque wrench.

• (4) M12 x 1.25 x 40mm Hex Bolts
• (4) 1/2" Conical Washers
• (4) Spacers

Safety Notes:

• Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
• If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter

Vehicle-Specific Instructions:

Toyota Tacoma:

1. Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle’s tail lights.

   • Carefully pry the housings away from the vehicle, being cautious not to break the alignment tabs.

2. Locate the vehicle’s wiring harness attached to each tail light housing.

   • The connectors will match the ends of the T-Connector adapter.

3. On the driver’s side, plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the wiring connections.

   • Ensure the T-Connector is fully inserted with the locking tabs in place.

4. Route the T-Connector harness:

   • Pass the green wire and the 4-flat connector out through the hole between the bumper and the vehicle body.
   • Route the green wire to the passenger side, avoiding any areas that could pinch or damage the wire.
   • Repeat step 3 for the passenger side using the green wire.

5. Locate the ground stud in the driver’s side tail light pocket.

   • Secure the T-Connector’s ring terminal to the stud using the provided nut.

6. Route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle and secure the black box to the vehicle using the cable tie provided.

   • Use additional cable ties to secure the remaining harness, avoiding any areas that might pinch or cut the wires.

7. Reinstall the tail lights.

Toyota T100:

1. Locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness near the rear frame.

   • The harness will have connection points on both sides matching the T-Connector ends.

2. Separate the connections, being careful not to break the locking tabs.

   • Ensure all surfaces are clean.

3. On the driver’s side, plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the connections.

   • Ensure it is fully inserted with the locking tabs in place.

4. Repeat step 3 on the passenger side using the T-Connector end with the green wire.

5. Locate a suitable grounding point near the adapter, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember.

   • Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing.
   • Drill a 3/32" hole and secure the white wire with the provided eyelet and screw.

6. Route the 4-flat connector to the center of the vehicle and secure the black box with a cable tie.

   • Secure the remaining harness with cable ties.

• 10mm socket and ratchet or 10mm wrench.
• Drill with a 3/32" drill bit (for Toyota T100 grounding).

Testing and Final Steps:
