Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Remove the tailpipe tangs from the rubber exhaust hanger at the rear of the vehicle.

Remove Heat Shield (Passenger Side):
- Detach the four (4) bolts securing the exhaust heat shield to the vehicle. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.

Remove Plastic Shroud (Driver Side):
- Remove the plastic rivet and nut holding the plastic shroud to the frame rail. Retain for reinstallation.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position with the frame bracket flanges positioned:
- Between the frame rail and plastic shroud on the driver’s side.
- Between the frame rail and exhaust heat shield on the passenger’s side.
- Ensure tailpipe tangs are above the hitch bar. For some vehicles, remove the chrome decorative ring from the tailpipe to slide the muffler toward the vehicle center for better wrench access.

Install Handle Nuts and Fasteners:
- Insert 1/2”-13 handle nuts through the large holes in the frame rails.
- Install the provided fasteners as shown in the instructions.

Install U-Bolt:
- Insert the 3/8”-16 U-bolt through the tow hook and mount it to the hitch using the provided fasteners.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2”-13 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
- Torque all 3/8”-16 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M).

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the exhaust heat shield over the hitch.
- Reattach the exhaust to its hanger.
- Replace the plastic rivet and nut securing the plastic shroud on the driver’s side.
- Trim the heat shield if required to fit around the hitch.
- Reinstall the chrome decorative ring to the tailpipe, if removed.
