Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Tow Hook (if equipped):
- If the vehicle has an OEM tow hook, it must be permanently removed before installing the hitch.
2. Remove Factory Bolts:
- Remove (4) existing M14 bolts from the frame rail weld nuts.
- Important: Do not clean the threads. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.
3. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position under the vehicle’s frame rails.
- Align the hitch holes with the existing weld nuts on the frame.
- If excess caulking interferes with hitch installation, lower the hitch and scrape off the excess caulking from the frame rails.
4. Secure Fasteners:
- Reinstall the retained M14 bolts to secure the hitch to the frame.
5. Tighten Fasteners:
- Use a torque wrench to tighten all M14 fasteners to 115 lb-ft (156 N·m).
Safety Notes:
- Regularly inspect the hitch and ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water or exhaust fume entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always wear safety glasses and observe precautions when working beneath a vehicle.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Jeep Grand Cherokee

- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)
- Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate.
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides, locate and remove the clips holding the taillight assemblies in place.

Disconnect the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Carefully disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the taillight sockets on both sides.
- Avoid breaking the locking tabs and set the taillights aside.

Route the T-Connector on the Driver’s Side:
- Underneath the vehicle, route the T-Connector harness with the yellow wire up through the opening between the bumper and body into the driver’s side taillight pocket.
- Tip: Use a fish wire to assist in pulling the harness through the taillight pocket and rear fascia.

Connect the T-Connector on the Driver’s Side:
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector with the yellow wire between the vehicle’s taillight connector and wiring harness.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs secured.

Route the Green Wire and 4-Flat Connector:
- Route the green wire and the 4-flat connector down along the rear bumper fascia toward the center of the vehicle.
- Continue routing the green wire to the passenger’s side taillight pocket.

Connect the T-Connector on the Passenger’s Side:
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the passenger’s side, using the T-Connector end with the green wire.
Warning:
- If routing the wires through a grommet or along the exterior of the vehicle, avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, or areas that may pinch or break the wires.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as an existing ground stud.
- Alternatively, drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Mount the 4-Flat Connector:
- Mount the 4-flat connector at the center of the vehicle in a suitable location.
- Note: A mounting bracket is not included.

- Secure all loose wires using the provided cable ties to prevent damage or rattling.
