Installation Time:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Bottom Side Plastic Panels:
- Use 5.5mm and 10mm sockets to remove (2) bolts and (2) flange nuts per panel on both sides (see Figure 2).
- Keep panels for reinstallation.
- For Edge Sport and MKX AWD models:
- Remove (6) bolts and (1) flange nut from the center plastic panel with heat shields (see Figure 3).
- Remove and return the panel to the owner.
- For MKX models:
- Remove bumper fascia for easier installation.
- Use a flat head and CR-VT 20 screwdriver to remove (3) rivets and (1) bolt per side (see Figure 4).
- Open the trunk, gently pull the fascia away, and disconnect the electrical connector on the driver side (see Figure 5).

Lower Muffler:
- Detach exhaust hanger rods from rubber isolators on both sides.
- Use a stand to support the muffler to prevent damage.
- Skip this step if the bumper fascia is already removed.

Install Hitch:
- Feed carriage bolts (Item 1) and spacers (Item 2) into the frame using pull wires (Item 5) (see Figure 6).
- Leave pull wires attached.
- Use a die grinder to cut the stud above the center of the muffler (see Figure 7).
- Raise the hitch into position, sliding it over the passenger side exhaust first.
- Feed pull wires through bracket holes, remove them, and loosely install washers (Items 3 and 6) and hex nuts (Item 4).

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16" fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m).

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall all fasteners, fascia, muffler, and plastic panels removed in Steps 1 and 2.

Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.

- Follow all safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Lincoln Nautilus

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillight Assemblies:
- Open the tailgate and use a trim panel remover to remove the round covers that expose the Torx 25 screws securing the taillights.
- Remove the screws and carefully pull the taillights away from the vehicle, ensuring not to damage the alignment pins.

Disconnect the Wiring Harness:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s wiring harness from both taillight sockets.
- On the driver’s side, fish the T-One® T-Connector end with the yellow wires up between the bumper and vehicle body into the taillight pocket.
Note: Partial removal of the fascia may assist in routing wires and connectors. Pull back the fascia to expose a larger area of the opening.

Connect the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Plug the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the mating plugs on the driver’s side taillight socket and vehicle wiring harness.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the green wire of the T-One® Connector under the bumper to the passenger side.
- Insert the green wire up through the passenger-side opening and connect it between the taillight socket and the vehicle wiring harness.
Note: For alternate routing, pull back the fascia area below the tailgate weatherstrip and place the wire behind the fascia. Removal of several fasteners may be required.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution: Verify the area behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder and attach the ring terminal to the Positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.
Warning: Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

Route the Power Wire:
- Starting at the front of the vehicle, route the black 12-gauge wire along the frame rail to the rear driver’s side.
- Locate the opening between the rear bumper and body to route the wire into the taillight area.
- Connect the black wire to the black wire from the T-One® Connector black box using the supplied yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery and Test:
- Reconnect the Negative (-) battery cable and insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
- Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Locate a flat, out-of-the-way surface on the driver’s side and secure the T-One® Connector’s black converter box with the provided double-sided tape.
- Ensure the epoxy side faces downward to prevent water accumulation.

Reinstall the Taillight Assemblies:
- Reinstall the taillights, positioning the vehicle wiring harness between the housing and the vehicle body.
- Secure the remaining T-One® Connector harness under the bumper with the provided cable ties, avoiding areas that could pinch or cut the wire.

Store the 4-Flat Connector:
- Mount the 4-flat connector in a suitable location under the vehicle (bracket not included).
