Step-by-Step Instructions:

Enlarge Existing Holes:
- Use a 1/2” drill bit to enlarge the existing holes on the bottom surface of the vehicle bumper structure.

Fishwire Bolts and Blocks:
- Fishwire the carriage bolts and blocks through the vehicle bumper structure and the newly drilled 1/2” holes.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position and loosely install the conical toothed washers and 1/2” hex nuts.

Install U-Bolt:
- Insert the 3/8”-16 U-bolt through the vehicle tow hook and the tow hook attachment of the hitch receiver.
- Secure with lock washers and 3/8” hex nuts as shown.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).
- Torque all 3/8”-16 GR5 fasteners to 30 Lb.-Ft. (41 N*M).

- (1) 3/8”-16 U-Bolt

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Mazda (CX-9, M5, M2)
Part Numbers:

- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill with 3/32” Drill Bit

- Wire Crimpers
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the rear door and fold down the rear seat.
- Remove the threshold, trunk floor panels, and trays. Set all removed items aside carefully.

Remove Trim Panels:
- On both sides of the vehicle, remove the cargo loops and screws using a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Carefully pull the trim panels away from the vehicle to expose the taillight wiring harness.

Locate the Vehicle’s Wiring Harness:
- On the driver’s side, locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors carefully, ensuring no damage to the locking tabs.
- Verify that the connectors match the T-Connector ends and ensure all surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Attach the T-Connector end with the yellow and brown wires between the vehicle connectors on the driver’s side.
- Ensure the connectors are fully inserted and locked.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger’s side taillight housing.
- Repeat Step 4 using the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle’s frame or crossmember.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Mount the Black Converter Box:
- On the driver’s side, locate a flat surface to mount the T-Connector’s black converter box.
- Use the provided double-sided tape to secure the box.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Attach the provided black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the converter box using the yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet or along the frame to the engine compartment, avoiding hot or moving parts.

Connect to the Vehicle Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the ring terminal.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the remaining harness, avoiding areas that may pinch, cut, or melt the wires.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the trim panels, threshold, and any other items removed during installation.

- Ensure all connections are complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
