Step-by-Step Instructions for Acura CSX:

Lower Exhaust:
- Remove the tailpipe tangs from the rubber exhaust hanger at the rear of the vehicle.

Remove Heat Shield:
- On the passenger side, remove the four (4) bolts securing the exhaust heat shield. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.

Remove Plastic Shroud:
- On the driver’s side, remove the plastic rivet and nut holding the plastic shroud to the frame rail. Retain these for reinstallation.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position with the frame bracket flanges between the frame rail and the plastic shroud (driver’s side) and between the frame rail and the exhaust heat shield (passenger side).
- Ensure the tailpipe tangs are above the hitch bar.

Install Handle Nuts and Fasteners:
- Insert the 1/2”-13 handle nuts through the large holes in the vehicle frame rails and secure the hitch using the provided bolts and conical washers.

Attach Tow Hook Fastener:
- Insert the 1/2”-13 x 2-1/4” bolt and toothed washer through the slot in the hitch, the vehicle tow hook, and back through the hitch. Secure with a toothed washer and locknut.

Adjust and Tighten Hitch:
- Pull the hitch rearward as far as possible to allow muffler clearance with the hitch bar on the passenger side. Tighten all fasteners to the torque specifications.

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the trimmed heat shield, reattach the exhaust, and replace the plastic rivet and nut holding the driver-side shroud.

- Detach the appearance panel by removing four (4) plastic rivets and three (3) bolts. Return the panel to the owner.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
