Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove License Plate:
- Take off the license plate to access the fascia area.
-
Cut Access Holes:
- Use a 3/4” drill bit or utility knife to create access holes behind the license plate for the lower bolts. Ensure these holes will be hidden when the license plate is reattached.

Remove Black Appearance Panel:
- Detach the black appearance panel from the underside of the vehicle.
-
Trim Plastic Fascia:
- Cut a notch approximately 3-1/4” wide x 2” deep in the plastic fascia, as shown in Figure 2.
-
Remove Aluminum Fascia Support:
- Detach the aluminum fascia support from the rear bumper by removing the four (4) M8 fasteners. Discard these fasteners.

Position Hitch and Fascia Support:
- Raise the hitch and aluminum fascia support into position by gently pulling the fascia rearward to access the rear face of the aluminum bumper.
- Attach the components using the provided M8 hex bolts, ensuring the hitch is sandwiched between the aluminum bumper and fascia support.
Note: If a weld is present between the aluminum fascia support and bumper, the weld must be ground off to allow proper installation.

Attach Tow Hook Bracket:
- Secure the hitch to the tow hook using the provided 1/2” fasteners.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M8 x 1.25 CL9.8 fasteners to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M).
- Torque all 1/2”-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).

Trim Appearance Panel:
- Mark the black appearance panel for clearance around the hitch, lower it, and trim as needed.

Reinstall Appearance Panel:
- Raise and reattach the trimmed appearance panel.
Hardware List:
- (4) Hex Bolts: M8 x 1.25 x 35mm CL9.8
- (1) Hex Bolt: 1/2”-13 x 1.75” GR5
- (1) Lock Washer: 1/2”
- (1) Hex Nut: 1/2”-13

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Nissan Rogue:

Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the rear hatch.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate, storage covers, and floor covering.
- Partially remove the rear interior trim panels on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. Carefully set aside all items removed.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connectors, ensuring no damage to the locking tabs. Clean all connector surfaces of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Plug the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver’s side taillight wiring connectors.
- Lock the connectors into place, ensuring the locking tabs are secure.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire to the passenger’s side behind the panels and along the threshold.
- Repeat Step 3 using the green wire for the passenger-side taillight connectors.
Infiniti G35:

Access the Trunk Area:
- Open the trunk.
- Temporarily remove the rear threshold plate and partially remove the felt trunk liner behind the taillights.

Install the T-Connector:
- Follow Steps 2-4 from the Nissan Rogue instructions for both the driver and passenger sides.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector, such as the vehicle frame or crossmember. Avoid drilling into the vehicle floor or bed.
- Clean the grounding area and drill a 3/32” hole. Secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid vehicle damage or personal injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Inside the vehicle, connect the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.
- Route the black wire through a grommet or along the exterior frame to the vehicle battery.
Warning:
- Avoid routing near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or other areas that could damage the wire.

Connect to the Battery:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Attach the yellow fuse holder to the positive (+) battery cable using the ring terminal.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black wire using the yellow butt connector.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

Mount the Black Box:
- Find a flat surface near the driver’s side taillight to mount the T-Connector black box.
- Secure it with the provided double-sided tape and cable ties.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Replace all trim panels, the threshold, storage covers, and floor covering removed during installation. Ensure no wires are pinched or damaged.

Test the Installation:
- Test and verify the T-Connector functionality with a test light or trailer.
- Reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
