Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Muffler:
- Use exhaust removal pliers to remove the rubber hangers (4 or 5 depending on the vehicle year) holding the muffler.
- Apply lubricant or soapy water to ease the removal process.
- Support the muffler to prevent damage.

Remove Rubber Plugs:
- Remove the rubber plugs from the existing holes in the vehicle frame (2 or 3 depending on the vehicle year) on each side.

Enlarge Holes (If Necessary):
- Drill the rear-most hole with a 1/2" bit and the forward-most hole with a 1/4" bit. Use a file to smooth the edges.

Install Fasteners:
- Use the pull wire to guide the carriage bolts and spacer blocks through the rear-most hole and out the forward-most hole in the frame.
- For the rear-most holes, use a reverse fish wire method to pull the fasteners into position.

Position Hitch:
- Carefully raise the hitch into position, ensuring that the fasteners remain in place.
- Install the flat washers, lock washers, and nuts onto the fasteners, ensuring that spacer blocks are positioned between the vehicle frame and the hitch at the forward-most holes.

Torque Fasteners:
- Tighten all 7/16"-14 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).

Raise Muffler:
- Reattach the muffler to its original position using the rubber hangers.
Hardware List:
- (4) Carriage Bolts: 7/16"-14 x 1.5" GR5
- (4) Spacer Blocks: 1/4" x 7/8" x 3"

- (4) Lock Washers: 7/16"

Installation Instructions for Modulite® HD Protector Vehicle Wiring

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Tow Vehicle Inputs - Determination:
- Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's negative battery terminal.
- Warning: Read and follow all warnings and instructions on the tow vehicle's battery.
- Splice the tow harness input wires to the vehicle as determined.
- Caution: Use appropriate gauge wire splices. Blue taps are for 16-18 gauge wires only.
Harness Installation:
- Determine the mounting location of the module and secure it using the double-sided tape provided.
- Warning: Mount the module with the epoxy side pointed towards the ground to prevent water buildup.
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the module, such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole to secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Route the power wire to the vehicle’s positive battery terminal. Use the provided fuse holder, butt connector, and ring terminal to connect to the battery.
- Do not insert the 15 amp fuse yet.
- Caution: Ensure the module is connected to a constant power source and avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or pinch points.
Completion:
- Secure the harness with cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling.
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable.
- Insert the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder and close the cap.
- Test the installation using a test light or trailer. Check each function independently and in combination.
