Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove Tie-Down Hook:
- On the driver's side, remove the tie-down hook while leaving the appearance panel in place (Prius only).
- Return the tie-down hook and fasteners to the vehicle owner.

Lower Exhaust System:
- Detach the exhaust at the rubber isolator, leaving the isolator in place on the exhaust.
- Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to assist removal.
- Be cautious to prevent the muffler from falling under its own weight.

Remove Muffler Hanger Fasteners:
- Remove the two fasteners holding the rear muffler hanger and return them to the vehicle owner.

Position Hitch (Driver’s Side First):
- Raise the driver’s side of the hitch into position through the tie-down bracket opening.
- Rotate the hitch through the cut-out while keeping the passenger's side on the ground.
- Support the hitch using a jack, blocks, or a second person.

Position Hitch (Passenger’s Side):
- Raise the passenger’s side of the hitch over the tailpipe, ensuring the bracket is sandwiched between the frame rail and the exhaust hanger bracket.
- Loosely install the fasteners.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M12 CL8.8 fasteners to 65 Lb.-Ft. (88 N*M) using a torque wrench.

Reinstall Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into position and secure it.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Toyota Prius

- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access the Vehicle’s Rear Wiring:
- Open the trunk or hatch and locate the vehicle wiring inside the rear cargo area.
- Partially remove the plastic threshold cover, side access panels, carpet panels, and cargo trays.

Locate the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both the driver’s and passenger’s sides, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness.
- Separate the connectors carefully to avoid breaking the locking tabs.
- Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Install the T-Connector:
- On the passenger side, insert the T-Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock it into place.
- Route the T-Connector end with the yellow wire to the driver’s side behind the panels and along the threshold. Repeat this step for the yellow wire on the driver’s side.

Ground Connection:
- On the passenger side, locate a suitable grounding point near the connector.
- Option 1: Clean the area of dirt and rustproofing. Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
- Option 2: Use an existing ground stud by loosening the bolt, placing the screw eyelet on the stud, and retightening the bolt.
- Caution: Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect to the Battery:
- Locate the vehicle’s 12-volt battery inside the cargo area on the passenger side under the floor covering.
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery terminal.
- Attach the fuse holder (with the fuse removed) to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
- Reconnect the negative (-) battery terminal and install the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.

- On the passenger side, mount the T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
