Step-by-Step Instructions:

Lower Exhaust:
- Remove both rubber isolators from the muffler hangers. Apply lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator for easier removal.

Remove Appearance Panel:
- Remove the driver-side appearance panel if present. Obtain owner’s permission to trim or return it. Refer to Figure 3.

Prepare Frame Rails:
- Remove rubber plugs from the frame rails.
- Loosen the heat shield if necessary.

Install Fasteners:
- For North American-built vehicles: Use the reverse pull wire procedure to install a 7/16” carriage bolt and spacer through the access hole in the frame rail. Leave the pull wire attached. Refer to Figure 4.
- For Asia-built sedans and coupes: Enlarge the holes in the frame rail with a 1/2” drill. Install the 7/16” carriage bolt and spacer through the access hole, leaving the pull wire attached. Refer to Figure 5.

Install Tie-Down Hook Fasteners:
- Insert the 1/2” carriage bolt and spacer on the tie-down hook as shown in Figure 2.

Position Hitch:
- Raise the passenger side of the hitch over the exhaust and loosely install the center attachment. Feed the pull wires through the rearward slot for sedans and the forward slot for coupes. Install the remaining fasteners as shown in Figure 1.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16” GR5 fasteners to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N*M).
- Torque all 1/2” GR5 fasteners to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M).

Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the vehicle exhaust.
- If the appearance panel was removed and trimmed, reinstall it.

Installation Instructions for T-Connector Adapter for Hyundai Elantra

- Trim Panel Remover
- Drill (3/32” Drill Bit)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the Rear Cargo Area:
- Open the trunk and temporarily remove the rear threshold plate.
- Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle's taillight wiring harness.

Disconnect the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- Locate the taillight wiring harness on both the driver and passenger sides.
- Disconnect the connectors, being careful not to break the locking tabs. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the driver-side wiring connectors.
- Ensure all connections are fully inserted and locked into place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the T-Connector end with the green wire under the felt trunk liner to the passenger-side taillight wiring harness.
- Repeat Step 3 for the T-Connector with the green wire.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind any surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury. Do not drill into the vehicle floor or any exposed surfaces.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder. Attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the provided yellow butt connector.

Route the Black Wire:
- Route the black wire out of the engine compartment, either along the exterior frame and through a grommet or inside following the existing wiring to the rear of the vehicle.
Warning:
- Avoid routing the wire near hot pipes, heat shields, or areas that may pinch or break the wire.

Connect to the Black Box:
- Attach the black 12-gauge wire to the red wire from the T-Connector's black box using the provided yellow butt connector.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 10-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning:
- All connections must be complete for the T-Connector to function properly. Test the installation with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-Connector black box on the driver’s side using the provided double-sided tape.
- Secure the remaining T-Connector harness with cable ties to prevent damage or rattling, avoiding areas that could cut or pinch the wire.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the felt trunk liner, threshold, and other items removed during installation, ensuring no wires are pinched or cut.
Note:
- Store the 4-flat connector in the spare tire compartment when not in use.
