Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Lower Spare Tire (All Models):
- If a spare tire is present, lower it to provide access to the hitch installation area.
2. Remove Existing Fasteners:
- Remove (4) M14 bolts from the frame rails. Do not clean the threads. Retain the bolts for reinstallation.
3. Install Hitch:
- Standard Installation: Raise the hitch into position, aligning it with the existing bolt holes on the frame.
- Diesel Models: Lower the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank to access the passenger-side bolts:
- Unclip the electrical connection on the passenger side and slide the clips off the rear stud posts.
- Using a 13mm socket, remove (2) rear stud posts and (2) forward hex bolts from the DEF tank.
- Support the DEF tank, which may weigh up to 100 lbs. Do not remove the filler pipe from the tank.
- Slightly lower the tank to provide access to the bolt holes.
4. Attach Fasteners:
- Reinstall the previously removed M14 bolts through the hitch and into the existing weldnuts on the frame rails.
- Torque all M14 fasteners to 115 lb-ft (156 N·m).
5. Reinstall Components:
- Spare Tire: Raise the spare tire back into its original position.
- Diesel Models: Reinstall the DEF tank and reconnect all electrical components:
- Torque the DEF tank studs to 21 lb-ft (28 N·m).
- Torque the DEF tank hex bolts to 24 lb-ft (33 N·m).
Safety Notes:
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust entry.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Installation Instructions for T-One® T-Connector for Dodge Durango

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Remove the Taillights:
- Open the tailgate and remove the vehicle’s taillight assemblies by unscrewing the two clips on each side.
- Carefully pry the housings away from the vehicle, avoiding damage to the alignment tabs.

Disconnect the Taillight Wiring Harness:
- On both sides of the vehicle, locate the taillight wiring harness.
- Disconnect the harness connectors carefully to avoid breaking the locking tabs.
- Clean all connectors to ensure proper connection.

Install the Driver-Side T-Connector:
- Insert the T-One® T-Connector with the yellow wire between the driver-side vehicle wiring connectors.
- Lock the connectors securely into place.

Route the Passenger-Side T-Connector:
- Route the green wire and the 4-flat connector down through the opening behind the driver-side taillight.
- Route the green wire harness along the underside of the vehicle and up through the opening behind the passenger-side taillight.
- Repeat Step 3 for the passenger-side T-Connector.
Warning:
- Avoid routing the wires near hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tanks, or any areas that could pinch or damage the wires.

Ground the White Wire:
- Locate a suitable grounding point near the driver-side connectors.
- Drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the provided eyelet and screw.
Caution:
- Verify what is behind the surface before drilling to avoid damage or injury.

Connect the Power Wire:
- Disconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder.
- Attach the fuse holder to the vehicle’s positive (+) battery cable using the provided ring terminal.
- Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12-gauge wire using the yellow butt connector.

Route the Black Wire:
- Route the black 12-gauge wire from the engine compartment to the rear driver’s side of the vehicle.
- Connect the wire to the black power wire on the T-One® T-Connector black box using the provided yellow butt connector.
Warning:
- Ensure the wire is routed safely, avoiding hot pipes, heat shields, and areas that could pinch or damage the wire.

Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the vehicle’s negative (-) battery cable.
- Insert the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Warning:
- All connections must be complete for the system to function properly. Test with a test light or trailer.

Mount the Black Box:
- Mount the T-One® T-Connector black box using the provided double-sided tape.
- Ensure the epoxy side of the box faces downward to prevent water buildup.

Secure the Wiring:
- Use the provided cable ties to secure the wiring harness, avoiding areas where wires could be pinched, cut, or melted.

Reassemble the Vehicle:
- Reinstall the taillight assemblies and any trim panels removed during installation.

Mount the 4-Flat Connector:
- Mount the 4-flat connector in an accessible location using a bracket or electrical box (not included).
