Installation Instructions for Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon (2015-Present)

- Ratchet
- Torque Wrench
- Safety Glasses
- Sockets: 12mm, 21mm, 22mm
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Socket Extension (6")

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Disconnect Electrical Connections:
- Disconnect electrical plugs and remove the wire retainer from the bumper support structure.

Remove Step Bumper:
- Remove the step bumper by taking out two (2) bolts on each side of the bumper brackets.

Remove Bumper Support:
- Remove the vehicle’s bumper support by removing four (4) bolts from the bottom of the frame and two (2) M8 bolts at the spare tire cradle.
- Retain the M8 bolts for reinstallation.

Install the Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position.
- Secure using the provided M14 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers into the four (4) existing weldnuts in the frame.

Reinstall Spare Tire Cradle:
- Reattach the spare tire cradle using the original fasteners.
- Torque M8 bolts to 20 lb-ft (28 N·m).

Reinstall Step Bumper:
- Reinstall the step bumper using the original four (4) side fasteners.
- Ensure the plastic tube for the spare tire mechanism is aligned.

Reconnect Electrical Connections:
- Reconnect all electrical plugs.

Reposition Spare Tire:
- Raise the spare tire back into position, if required.

Return Parts to Owner:
- Return the vehicle’s bumper support and the bottom four (4) factory bolts to the owner.

Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all M14 CL10.9 fasteners to 100 lb-ft (136 N·m).
Hardware List:
- (4) M14 x 2.00 x 45mm CL10.9 Bolts
- (4) 9/16" Flat Washers
- (4) 9/16" Lock Washers
Safety Notes:
- Frequently check the hitch to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball immediately.
- Always follow safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle, and wear eye protection.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
