Installation Instructions for Trailer Hitch

Tools Required:
- Ratchet
- Torque Wrench
- Safety Glasses
- Sockets: 10 mm, 11/16", 3/4"
- 6" Socket Extension
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Exhaust Removal Pliers (Optional)
- Lubricant or Soapy Water
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Lower the Exhaust:
- Remove the rubber isolators from the exhaust at the rear of the vehicle on both sides.
- It may be necessary to remove the isolator forward of the rear axle.
- Spray lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and rubber isolator to ease removal.
2. Remove Center Splash Guard (For 2023 or Newer Models):
- Using a 10 mm socket, remove nuts from the splash guard.
- Remove rivets using a flat head screwdriver.
- Return the splash guard to the vehicle owner.
3. Install Hardware:
- Use the fish wire to install the carriage bolts and spacers into the large access hole at the end of the vehicle frame as shown in Figure 1.
- Repeat for both sides.
- Keep the fish wire attached to the hardware to prevent it from falling back into the frame.
4. Install the Hitch:
- Gently raise the hitch into position, guiding it over the mufflers.
- Feed the end of the fish wires through the attachment holes in the hitch.
- Install the conical washers (teeth side against the hitch) and hex nuts to hold the hitch in place.
- For the hitch receiver, insert the bolt through the bracket and towhook, then attach the spacers, lock washer, and hex nut as shown in Figure 1.
5. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 7/16"-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m).
- Torque all 1/2"-13 GR5 fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m).
6. Reinstall Exhaust:
- Raise the exhaust back into position and reattach all isolators removed in Step 1.

- 4 × Spacer Blocks (.25" × 1.00" × 2.00")
- 4 × Conical Washers (7/16")
- 4 × Hex Nuts (7/16"-14, GR2)
- 1 × Carriage Bolt (1/2"-13 × 2.00", GR5)
- 1 × Spacer Block (.25" × 1.00" × 3.00")
- 1 × Lock Washer (1/2")
- 1 × Hex Nut (1/2"-13, GR5)
- 4 × Fish Wires (7/16")
Safety Notes:
- Always wear safety glasses during installation.
- Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are securely tightened.
- If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering.
- Replace any damaged hitch or ball before use.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
