Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Remove Fascia Panel:
- Use a T25 Torx bit to remove (6) screws from the rear bottom fascia.
2. Remove Underbody Panels:
- Use T25, T27, and a 10 mm socket to remove (6) screws and (1) flange nut from the underbody panel on each side.
3. Remove Bumper Fascia:
- Loosen the lower part of the wheel well trim with plastic trim tools by unclipping tabs and gently pulling outward.
- Use a T25 Torx bit to remove (1) screw behind the wheel well trim on each side.
- Open the lift gate and remove (2) screws near the trunk weather seal using a T30 Torx bit.
- Use plastic trim tools to remove the fascia starting at the outer edge near the wheel wells. Unplug the wiring on the passenger side if present.
4. Remove Bumper Beam:
- Use a 13 mm socket to remove (3) factory M8 bolts from the bumper plate on each side.
- Gently remove the bumper beam and return it to the vehicle owner.
5. Install Hitch:
- Raise the hitch into position, aligning the holes in the hitch with the end panel studs (refer to Figure 1).
- Use pull wires to feed the carriage bolts and spacers through the end panel opening. Remove pull wires and loosely install conical washers and 1/2" nuts.
- Install flat washers, lock washers, and M8 nuts to the top two end panel studs. Reuse the factory M8 flange nut for the bottom end panel stud with the exhaust hanger bracket.
6. Tighten Fasteners:
- Torque all 1/2" fasteners to 75 lb-ft (102 N·m) and all M8 fasteners to 27 lb-ft (37 N·m).
7. Trim Bumper Fascia and Fascia Panel:
- Use a marker and utility knife to cut a notch on the bottom fascia as shown in Figure 2.
- Cut the fascia panel into two pieces as shown in Figure 3.
8. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall all fasteners, wiring, bumper fascia, and panels removed in Steps 1-3.

Safety Notes:
- Always wear safety glasses during installation.
- Check the hitch periodically to ensure all fasteners and the hitch ball are secure.
- Plug any exposed holes in the trunk pan or body panels if the hitch is removed to prevent water and exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle.
- Replace any damaged hitch or hitch ball before use.
- Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
